Much of the competitiveness growth in the next 13 years is expected to take place in Asian cities, such as Doha, Qatar; Incheon, South Korea; and Mumbai, India. Meanwhile, cities such as Madrid and Rome are expected to fall significantly from 2012 to 2025, mostly due to a weakened European economy, according to Abruzzese.\n\nThe cities that top this list, not surprising, are among the wealthiest. \"Usually, the cities that come near the top tend to be fairly advanced economies, so they tend to be economically strong,\" Abruzzese said. "abstractNote": "international bp holdings news story\n\n(CNN) -- The worst charity in America operates from a metal warehouse behind a gas station in Holiday, Florida.\n\nEvery year, Kids Wish Network raises millions of dollars in donations in the name of dying children and their families.\n\nEvery year, it spends less than 3 cents on the dollar helping kids. Most of the rest gets diverted to enrich the charity's operators and the for-profit companies Kids Wish hires to drum up donations.\n\nIn the past decade alone, Kids Wish has channeled nearly $110 million donated for sick children to its corporate solicitors. An additional $4.8 million has gone to pay the charity's founder and his own consulting firms.\n\nNo charity in the nation has siphoned more money away from the needy over a longer period of time. \n\nBut Kids Wish is not an isolated case, a yearlong investigation by the Tampa Bay Times and The Center for Investigative Reporting has found. \n\nUsing state and federal records, the Times and CIR identified nearly 6,000 charities that have chosen to pay for-profit companies to raise their donations.\n\nThen reporters took an unprecedented look back to zero in on the 50 worst - based on the money they diverted to boiler room operators and other solicitors over a decade.\n\nAmerica's 50 worst charities\n\nThese nonprofits adopt popular causes or mimic well-known charity names that fool donors. Then they rake in cash, year after year.\n\nThe nation's 50 worst charities have paid their solicitors nearly $1 billion over the past 10 years that could have gone to charitable works.\n\nAC360: CNN's Drew Griffin investigates\n\nUntil today, no one had tallied the cost of this parasitic segment of the nonprofit industry or traced the long history of its worst offenders.\n\nAmong the findings:\n-- The 50 worst charities in America devote less than 4% of donations raised to direct cash aid. Some charities gave even less. Over a decade, one diabetes charity raised nearly $14 million and gave about $10,000 to patients. Six spent no cash at all on their cause.\n\n-- Even as they plead for financial support, operators at many of the 50 worst charities have lied to donors about where their money goes, taken multiple salaries, secretly paid themselves consulting fees or arranged fund-raising contracts with friends. One cancer charity paid a company owned by the president's son nearly $18 million over eight years to solicit funds. A medical charity paid its biggest research grant to its president's own for-profit company.\n\n-- Some nonprofits are little more than fronts for fund-raising companies, which bankroll their startup costs, lock them into exclusive contracts at exorbitant rates and even drive the charities into debt. Florida-based Project Cure has raised more than $65 million since 1998, but every year has wound up owing its fundraiser more than what was raised. "abstractNote": "It is not the first time in Australia’s economic history that a prevalent sector reaches its peak and gives way to a rapidly developing new one. However, while the mining and education sectors have apparently hit their peaks and manufacturing continues its decline (as seen by the planned withdrawal of Ford in 2016), there seems to be no replacement underway.\nThere is another possibility – albeit a controversial one. Could – and should – Australia embrace the manufacture of nuclear fuel?\nMore specifically, could the fabrication of nuclear fuel elements or fuel rods used in nuclear power generation plants, replace our current export of uranium oxide concentrate – so-called “yellowcake”?\nAustralia exports nuclear fuel anyway. It is just the matter of doing it smarter and safer, adding more value to Australia’s product before it leaves our shores, while creating more jobs for Australians and making the world more secure.\nWhat is the reason Australia has not done this so far? Firstly, the countries capable of exporting fuel elements, such as France, historically started their fuel element fabrication industries intending to generate nuclear-based energy for themselves.\nHaving abundant and easy to mine coal deposits, Australia did not have to bother about the nuclear industry. Secondly and more importantly, the nuclear industry is strictly (and rightfully) regulated. Even mining uranium ore is a very controversial and politically charged matter.\nTo start producing fuel elements, a company must lobby federal and state governments; while for governments a huge task would be to face hostile anti-nuclear public opinion. Therefore, a vision and leadership is needed from the governments' side to support any commercial interest in this industry.\nPotential market capacity\nMost of the yellowcake used for power generation worldwide is produced by 17 nations. Australia is the third largest producer after Kazakhstan and Canada and meets about 20% of the world demand.\nOf the producers – Canada, the United States, Germany and France – Australia is the only developed nation producing yellowcake that does not fabricate fuel rods. However, Germany and France produce only miniscule amounts of yellowcake and import considerable amounts of it for their domestic production of rods.\nAmong growing energy markets, the largest – in absolute terms – potential growth of nuclear energy sectors is expected in India and China.",

Examples of auto dealer fraud include “bait and switch” advertising practices, deceptive inflation of vehicle prices, and failure to disclose information about a vehicle.\n“Bait and switch” sales tactics are a form of false or deceptive advertising, in which a car dealer lures potential buyers to the dealership by advertising one vehicle at a certain price, then tells the customer that the particular vehicle is no longer available before using aggressive tactics to sell a different, more expensive vehicle (or the advertised vehicle at a price higher than the advertised price).\nIn most states, car dealers must disclose whether a used vehicle has incurred significant damage in an accident, has been designated “salvaged”, or has been flood-damaged.\nA form of auto dealer fraud, a “mileage rollback” or “odometer rollback” occurs when the odometer of a used vehicle (which indicates the total miles the vehicle has been driven) is altered (or “rolled back”) to display a number that is lower than the vehicle’s actual mileage.\nAlthough both dealer fraud cases and lemon law cases involve motor vehicles, auto dealer fraud cases are very different from Lemon Law cases. \nMADRID – In a cramped office in downtown Madrid, five young architects who found themselves jobless in Spain's wrenching economic crisis sit almost elbow to elbow — glued to computer screens as they create 3-D videos of construction proposals for far-flung sites in Britain, Panama, Malaysia and Zambia.
\n
\nThe founders of the Factoria 5 digital design company last month took home €2,000 ($2,700) each for the projects they are delivering. That's good money for professionals in a field so blighted by Spain's building bust that many of Factoria 5's fellow architecture grads are either unemployed, have given up on architecture or moved abroad. One, who considers himself lucky, became a train conductor.
\n
\nJuan Francisco Lopez, one of the founders of the firm, took another path in the crisis, one that goes deeply against the grain of Spain's traditional career path: With no work coming to them, Lopez and his partners decided to go after the work, taking control of their destiny with a risky startup.
\n
\n\"Architecture will never come back to Spain as a business again like it was,\" said Lopez. \"But our business has been growing little by little as Spain's economy has been falling.\"
\n
\nBy spawning astonishing 50 percent youth unemployment, Spain's crushing crisis appears to be starting to force ingenuity, innovation and creativity among young professionals who are taking risks and bucking the pattern of seeking security under the umbrella of an established business. That means embracing a more American-style entrepreneurial spirit — breathing a new spirit into the workforce of a country where \"making it\" typically meant a good, stable job with a blue chip company or in the family business.
\n
\nTwo members of Factoria 5 are friends of Class of 2012 participant Rafael Gonzalez del Castillo, who admires them for taking a big risk by sticking with Spain in tough times, instead of leaving to hawk their skills in booming economies elsewhere, amid a corrosive brain drain that threatens Spain's longterm future.
\n
\n\"We are young,\" said Gonzalez del Castillo, who expects to become a full-fledged architect soon with approval for his graduation project. \"We are the best at creating new things because we are open-minded and that is what the world needs now: creation, change.\"
\n
\nSpain has long been viewed as a laggard in startup entrepreneurship compared to other European countries. Startup proponents say there are encouraging signs that may be changing, though they acknowledge there are no hard numbers yet to provide strong evidence of a trend. In one positive sign, there was a big jump last year in Spanish startups seeking early stage capital funding, according to New York-based investment platform Gust LLC, which matches investors with entrepreneurs. And the number of self-employed Spaniards also rose, after successive years of declines.
\n
\n\"It's the mentality of the people,\" said Alex Barrera, a co-founder and former chief executive of the Tetuan Valley startup school in Madrid that gives 6-week crash courses to would-be young entrepreneurs. \"I go to universities and this is an option students are now considering, whereas before they weren't even thinking about it. They were just thinking of working for a big company or for government. Now people realize you can build a company around a mobile app.\"
\n
\nNo one disputes that the Spanish economy is in the midst of a Darwinian phase of survival of the fittest — and those willing and able to carve out something new in the crisis may be the ones best placed to come out on top once good times return.
\n
\n\"There are a lot of young people and even those up to 40 or so years old who are doing new business experiments,\" said Jose Ramon Pin, a business management professor at the IESE Business School in Madrid. \"And there's a natural selection of companies under way. Those that survive the crisis or start during it have the advantage: The market will be theirs when the economy bounces back.\"
\n
\nWhen the architects of Factoria 5 started their company as Spain's economy lurched into a deep double-dip recession, some of their parents told them they were crazy. The would-be entrepreneurs, however, had all just finished their architecture degrees plus digital media masters degrees and sensed they could fill a niche by becoming high-tech content suppliers to Spanish architects who no longer had work at home but were increasingly designing projects for foreign clients. The only other option was seeking work abroad.
\n
\nAfter 18 months of 70-hour work weeks, few weekends off and skimping on costs by walking or taking public transport to visit clients, the hard work has paid off: Factoria 5 has completed 65 projects and makes money — if not always a profit.
\n
\nDuring down months, they take home almost nothing but have always managed to pay their monthly costs of about â,7/82,000 for rent and other office expenses, plus national health care and social security. Right now they're working on videos to showcase an office building in El Salvador, corporate headquarters in Puerto Rico, furniture in Madrid and advertising space for fragrances in Barcelona; about 90 percent of their work is for projects abroad.
\n
\nThe architects consider the result a victory given the terrible state of Spain's economy. But the success is bittersweet: They don't think they'll ever build the real buildings they dreamed about during their studies: Museums, apartment buildings, and a government offices like those that country built with no end in sight until the construction boom crashed in 2008.
\n
\nGonzalez del Castillo, who plans to seek architecture work abroad once he gets his degree, respects his friends' resolve: \"Sometimes it seems that the hardest part ... is to go abroad, but maybe it is harder to stay here and try to face it, changing the way you work.\"
\n
\nAcross the country, other young entrepreneurs working on separate ventures are increasingly banding together in groups of 10 or so to jointly rent office space, splitting the bill and sometimes the cost of a secretary to serve all of their different businesses.
\n
\n\"Many of these people don't hold out much hope of getting a traditional job with a Spanish company for the next 15 years or so but they are creative, so they decide to create their own businesses,\" said Ricardo Ibarra Roca, the 28-year-old president of The Spanish Youth Council, which represents 76 Spanish associations representing young adults.
\n
\nFar from Madrid's center, in an industrial park that's home to countless auto repair shops, more than two dozen mostly 20-something application developers, sales representatives, community managers and content editors work in an open loft office space for social travel startup Minube (Mycloud in Spanish), which provides travel experiences from users around the world in multiple languages on its Internet site and smartphone applications. The company had revenue of â,7/81 million last year, and is forecasting an increase of 40 percent this year.
\n
\n\"If we weren't in crisis, it's possible this company wouldn't exist,\" said founder Raul Jimenez, 35. \"The great opportunity is innovation, and the crisis is helping because it pushes people out of their comfort zone.\"
\nSpanish companies that are successful traditionally move to better digs and prime locations when successful, but Jimenez decided to move just a few blocks within the industrial park when Minube's space got too small.
\n
\nThe company also breaks traditional business norms by having shifts that end at 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. instead of later or when the boss leaves the office, no two-hour Spanish lunches and no separate offices for higher-ups. The formal attire common in Spanish companies is unknown here. In a country where directors of company often closet themselves in expansive offices, the Minube interns sit next to Jimenez.
\n
\nMinube's growth has coincided precisely with Spain's economic decline. It got its start with a â,7/8400,000 loan in 2007 before the crisis hit, but hasn't been able to obtain any credit for expansion since then, so all income has been plowed back into operations and the company ruthlessly keeps costs down. Surviving in an era of austerity is an accomplishment, Jimenez says, and he senses a mindset change among Spaniards toward work after years of bad economic times with no end in sight.
\n
\nDuring Spain's boom times, Jimenez recalled, it wasn't uncommon or frowned upon in Spain for workers to quit jobs, and go on unemployment with monthly government payments until they were ready to take on another easy-to-find job. While that's also happened in other countries, Jimenez said the attitude change in Spain has been profound.
\n
\n\"Five years ago, people would go to the beach for six months and then find another job. Now everyone wants to work,\" he said. \"When the comfort zone breaks apart, it changes people. I've never before seen the spirit of change that there is now. I have friends who are leaving big companies so they can experiment.\"

Das Hotel mit fünf gehobenen Restaurants und die Lobby ähnelte eine Ausstellung direkt vom Guggenheim-Museum. Schön, atemberaubend, spektakulär und dies war China.\nIch hatte die Chance, für die Zeit in der Grandview Mall, ein Mega-Mall, das schien sogar die Mall of America zu übertrumpfen. Die Mall war verankert durch ein dreistöckiges Nike Shop wo Shopper können benutzerdefinierte machen eigene Turnschuhe. In der Nähe war die H & M mit Shopper kaufen Schlange verpackt. Die Mall enthalten eine multiplex-Theater (4D ist um die Ecke), und würde bald ein Aquarium gehören. "abstractNote": "(Reuters) - Spain's prime minister published his tax returns on Saturday in a bid to quell reports he and other conservative politicians received secret cash payments but the opposition said many questions remain unanswered.\nThe government's website posted tax authority documents detailing Mariano Rajoy's income and tax payments from the past ten years. His ruling People's Party (PP) also revealed four years of financial accounts on Friday, in another attempt to put the matter to rest.\nThe scandal, centered on ledgers supposedly made by a former party treasurer, have cut support for the PP to the lowest level on record and pushed up borrowing costs just as it seemed Spain was getting to grips with a financial crisis that had raised questions about the future of the euro zone.\nFormer PP treasurer Luis Barcenas has described as fake handwritten ledger entries published on January 31 by El Pais newspaper purporting to show payments funded by construction firms made to PP leaders including Rajoy.\nRajoy has said the payments were not made and that the party is organizing an external audit into the affair.\nThe opposition Socialists said the published accounts of Rajoy and the PP did nothing to explain the Barcenas papers.\nSocialist spokeswoman Soraya Rodriguez said Spaniards wanted more than Rajoy's tax records.\n\"Spaniards are fed up of waiting for answers that never come,\" she told journalists in Valladolid on Saturday.\nCayo Lara of the United Left party said the publication of the accounts was meaningless as members of parliament have to declare their assets in any case.\nThe tax returns do not cover the first half of the period of entries in the ledgers published by El Pais, which run from 1990 to 2009.\nIn the last year of detailed returns published, for 2011, Rajoy earned more 400,000 euros before tax. He paid 870,292 euros in tax over the period covered by the published accounts. His parliamentary salary was supplemented by investments in public debt and real estate, the government said.\nSupport for the PP fell to 24 percent in a Metroscopia poll published on February 3, the lowest on record and barely more than half the support the party received when it won a landslide election victory in late 2011.\nSpain, the euro zone's fourth-largest economy, has been at the centre of concerns about the future of the euro currency and was pushed to the brink of following Greece, Ireland and Portugal in asking for an international bail-out.\n\nA pledge by the European Central Bank to act as a backstop for bets against peripheral euro zone countries has reduced borrowing costs, but Spain is still struggling with a deep recession and unemployment of 26 percent.\nThe yield on Spain's 10-year government bonds rose to almost 5.5 percent on February 6, up from 5.2 percent on January 30, the day before El Pais published the alleged accounts.\nFitch affirmed Spain's investment grade rating on Friday but warned that it could still downgrade the country's sovereign bonds in coming months on worries about the economy and public debt levels.\n\n($1 = 0.7474 euros)",

"abstractNote": "Good morning, and welcome to our rolling coverage of the eurozone financial crisis, and other key events in the world economy.\n\nThe unfolding corruption allegations in Spain continue to dominate the agenda, after helping send European stock markets sliding yesterday.\n\nEl País, which broke the story last week, reports this morning that Spain's anti-corruption prosecutor is holding a wide-ranging investigation into claims that senior members of the ruling People's party, including prime minister Mariano Rajoy, received secret, illegal payments over many years.\n\nThe prosecutor, it says, is comparing the PP's last 13 years of public accounts with the 'secret accounting system', which El Pais claims was created by treasurer Luis Bárcenas.\n\nAccording to El País the investigation will consider whether any individuals, or the PP, committed tax fraud by not declaring secret payments, and whether limits on political donations were breached.\n\nThe full story is online here in Spanish (or there's a Google translation into English here)\n\nWith Rajoy insisting yesterday the allegations are untrue, the scandal could loom over the eurozone for some time.\n\nThe financial markets are calmer this morning. Obligatorische Freiheitsentziehung kann verhindert werden, dass ein Unternehmen neue Verträge oder Neuvermietungen mit der US-Regierung, die in der Anlage durchgeführt werden würde, wo aufgetreten ist die Verletzung des Clean Water Act. Alle vorhandenen Verträge oder die Pachtverträge, die ein Unternehmen bei der US-Regierung hat betroffen eine obligatorische Freiheitsentziehung nicht. \nBP obligatorische Freiheitsentziehung gilt nach Verurteilung und ist kein Hinweis auf die Änderung des Status von Diskussionen mit der EPA. BP wurde in Gesprächen mit der EPA seit einiger Zeit nun bezüglich BP vorhanden Verantwortung und Förderfähigkeit für neue Bundesrepublik Vertrags- und Leasing-Auszeichnungen von der US-Regierung und BP weiterhin mit der EPA bei der Vorbereitung einer Verwaltungsvereinbarung, die Aussetzung und aufgabengerechten Probleme beheben wird.\nDie EPA kündigte eine zeitweilige Aussetzung der zahlreichen BP-Entitäten im November 2012 nach BP-Inkrafttreten des Geständnisses mit DOJ. Die vorübergehende Aussetzung kann verhindert werden, dass diese Entitäten neue Regierungsaufträge, Stipendien und andere gedeckten Transaktionen mit der US-Regierung einzugehen. Nach heutigen Klage kann diese vorübergehende Aussetzung beibehalten oder in einer vorgeschlagenen diskretionäre Ausschluß dieser Entitäten (zusätzlich zur obligatorischen Ausschluß der Verletzung Anlage selbst), um den Status quo erhalten und weiterhin die Unwählbarkeit dieser Wesen, während mit der EPA Verhandlungen umgewandelt werden. Der Prozess zur Lösung sowohl obligatorische und diskretionäre Freiheitsentziehung ist im Wesentlichen die gleichen wie bei der Lösung von die vorübergehende Aussetzung.\n \nWährend BP Gespräche mit der EPA in Parallel zur gerichtlichen Verfahren auf die kriminellen Einrede stattgefunden haben, des Unternehmens arbeiten zum Erreichen einer Verwaltungsvereinbarung mit der EPA ist ein separater Prozess und es kann einige Zeit zur Lösung von Problemen im Zusammenhang mit solchen Vereinbarung nehmen.\n \nBP hat seit dem Unfall zur weiteren Verbesserung der Sicherheit in der gesamten globalen Geschäftstätigkeit erhebliche Änderungen vorgenommen. "abstractNote": "BP today gave a further update on the situation at the In Amenas joint venture in Algeria and its response following the terrorist attack on the site early on Wednesday morning (16 January, 2013). \n\nAt the time of the attack there were 18 BP employees at In Amenas. To respect the privacy of these individuals and their families, we cannot comment on their identities at this time. BP has been in close touch with the families of each of these employees since the incident began, offering support and providing them with available confirmed information. \n\nIn addition to the BP employees, there were also a number of other personnel at the site contracted to the joint venture and other companies, many of whom have worked with and for BP for many years. \n\nOver the past four days, BP’s efforts have been focused on locating our people and ensuring their safety. Of our employees at the site, 14 are now confirmed safe and secure. Two have sustained injuries, but these are not life-threatening. \n\nHowever, so far, neither the authorities on the ground, international governments nor BP have been able to confirm the location or status of four of our employees.",
