\nThe article highlights the unpredictability of the mobile application market and it's diversity, especially with the introduction of the smartphone. While there has been considerable shifts in the artifacts the author mentions in the article, the fundamental principles still hold true.
\nThe article helps support my decision to shift away from an initial native application design (for the Android operating system) to a web application which while having drawbacks to a native application, has advantages as well especially for an application being designed for such a diverse population and intended for public use.

Advantages: uniformity cross-platform. simplicity (in coding) and availability.

Drawbacks: responsiveness (although coding with the Sencha Touch) framework should make it barely noticeable.
