"note": "<p>I like Zotero as a tool for keeping track of my sources. It is extremely easy to use and simple to implement. The meta-data is rarely incorrect and was very easy to change and add to if necessary. It was always easy to see the information gathered and all the different things that I had recorded.</p>\n<p>I would use Zotero in a way that I would consider different compared to most. For any of my assignments that required resoureces, I would import sources into Zotero as I used them in the assignment. As I would write whatever it was I would be writing I would not put in any citations in until the very end. Once I was finished writing I would go back to where I needed to put all my citations. I would then go one by one through every citation needed and get it from Zotero. As I would get it I would review the information recorded and see if it was all correct. If it was not I would edit it, but if it seemed okay I would use the bibliography tool and copy and past the bibliography generated into my assignment. From what I’ve heard most people fill in their citations as they write their assignments but I prefer to not disturb the flow of my writing. Zotero made it easy to see what it was I had sourced and just plop it in right where I needed it. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>I also used Zotero to keep track of all the different articles I have read. As one could notice from my library, I am a big hockey fan and read many different blogs around hockey, specifically advanced stats. Normally, I just read whatever article I feel like and just leave it at that, but now I am starting to try and record whatever I read in Zotero. This allows me to know all the articles that I have read months and years after I have read them. This could be useful if I want to recall something I have read. Also, it is nice to have it as a time capsule as to seeing all the different things I have read over time. I am not always the best at remembering to record these article in Zotero, but I am trying to get better.</p>\n<p>The bibliography tool was what I thought was the most useful part of Zotero. Over the course of this semester I have used Chicago Style. APA and MLA citations in all my different assignments. Without Zotero it would have been very hard to transition from all these different styles, learning all their different nuances, but Zotero made it seamless to transition from one style to the next. Also, it got rid of the rather tedious work of having to write out the bibliography, being extremely conscious of every little detail that comes with a bibliographical style.</p>\n<p>One change I would implement into Zotero is being able to move items or groups of items without having to click and drag. With most people on laptops using a mouse pad clicking and dragging is a bit of a pain and is not easy to do. I would suggest something like selecting the item or group of items you wish to move and right clicking on them to open the right click menu. From there the user would simple click Move &gt; Folder and move all the items selected to that folder. Or even better would be just to be able to copy and past items from one folder to the next. This would save time and be much more user friendly.</p>\n<p>Going forward, I will continue to use Zotero as my main way of keeping track of resources. That is something I really do find useful. I will also try to make a better point as to recording all the things I read online. I think that this will be nice to have going forward to see how my interests change and evolve.</p>",

"abstractNote": "Computer Space, the world's first commercially sold coin-operated video game and video game system of any kind (predating magnovox odyssey) It's the first coin-operated arcade game to use a video display to generate graphics via video signal (predating Magnovox Odyssey). It was built by Nolan Bushnell (a founder of Atari and Chuck E' Cheese). He wanted video games available to the public but it was too expensive to use computer hardware or it's CPU. So he decided to build his own arcade cabinet (after Galaxy-Game in 1971) entirely of electrical transistors and circuits and discrete logics,( the same parts used to produced and manufacture television. Also the same strategy that Ralph Baer used to make Magnovox Odyssey usd.). To reduce cost and make them more affordable to the public. However, it was not financial success. But Nolan later created and release Pong in 1972, which was very successful. \n\nGalaxy-Game is the only coin-operated computer game to predate computer space. Galaxy-Game was built also built in 1971 , only with mainframe computer hardware and only one was ever built. So we probably won't see this game emulated since it's now at the hands of the museum. Simulation maybe possible but it won't be very accurate.\n\nRalph Baer is often credted as the original inventor and creator of video games as he had the original idea for video games back in the early 1950s. But first person to bring video games to the public would have to be Nolan Bushnell. Without him, we would have no arcade games nor MAME would ever existed.\n\nThis is not an emulation. More of a very accurate simulation. There are currently no emulators to play this game since MAME can only emulate games at CPU levels. This game does not have a CPU or ROM chips. In order for MAME to emulate this game, it will have to emulate the whole electronic hardware, which is not very easy to do. But software simulation is available. Thanks to the people who created this software simulation game, with sound effects and audio ripped from the original arcade machine. "abstractNote": "Social media has created a two-pronged dilemma for the journalism world. On one side is an attack of the basic notions of identity and authority for an age-old profession while on the other side supporting journalists by making available an endless amount of new tools and resources for them to work with. This thesis establishes and examines the online community of practice that has formed in the crosshair of the two sides, where the future of newspapers is a hotly debated subject. Using innovative data collection, the conversations of 20 experts is studied qualitatively through computer mediated discourse analysis to examine and explore the debate while providing consideration of the key issues to allow for an in-depth study.",

"abstractNote": "Professor Franco Moretti argues heretically that literature scholars should stop reading books and start counting, graphing, and mapping them instead. He insists that such a move could bring new luster to a tired field, one that in some respects is among .the most backwards disciplines in the academy.. Literary study, he argues, has been random and unsystematic. For any given period scholars focus on a select group of a mere few hundred texts: the canon. As a result, they have allowed a narrow distorting slice of history to pass for the total picture. Moretti offers bar charts, maps, and time lines instead, developing the idea of .distant reading,. set forth in his path-breaking essay .Conjectures on World Literature,. into a full-blown experiment in literary historiography, where the canon disappears into the larger literary system. Charting entire genres.the epistolary, the gothic, and the historical novel.as well as the literary output of countries such as Japan, Italy, Spain, and Nigeria, he shows how literary history looks significantly different from what is commonly supposed and how the concept of aesthetic form can be radically redefined.",
