Zotero is an excellent research tool to manage and organize bibliographic data. It is a very useful tool for in-text citations, bibliographies and footnotes. In my opinion, the program is really useful because it allows users to gain time during the research process. Zotero was a great discovery for me. While a was making my assignments for other classes, having Zotero as a tool help me with the task of writing the reference. One downside of the program is that it is easy to take bad habits during the data collecting phase by not taking the time to correct or add some information related to the source that is introduced in the dataset of Zotero. Even if the program is, in my opinion, very user-friendly, it has a great complexity of features that I still do not now about.

\n

For the first part of the assignment, I created a database based on all of my classes needs for assignments. I divided all my items into different folders that are associated to a specific subject but I did not take the time to control the veracity or the information of the document. By not verifying this information, I had to work double since I had to scroll down all of my dataset to make sure that no information was missing. This task made me loss a lot of time because I had to find the document again and add correctly the missing information. In the future, the updating, like the item type, the author, and some other fields will, be done during the research process and not afterword.

\n

One other problem that I face with Zotero was that I had to download the Firefox browser. The program seems to find difficulties while working with other browsers such as internet explorer for example.

\n

A positive aspect of Zotero would be that I enjoyed the fact that I could change the bibliographic styles at all times. I am a Psychology student and I have to work with the American Psychologist Association (APA) style for other classes and being able to switch from a style to another was easy to do.

\n

During the hole semester I learned how to manage and organize a dataset by playing with the program. I wish we could had had more time in class to discover a little bit more about some features of the program.

Zotero is a great tool that I enjoyed working with throughout the semester. I still have knowledge to gain and for this, I will continue working and improving my skills.

These symbols are widely known and commonly recognized among computer-mediated communication (CMC) users, and they are described by most observers as substituting for the nonverbal cues that are missing from CMC in comparison to face-to-face communication. Their empirical impacts, however, are undocumented. An experiment sought to determine the effects of three common emoticons on message interpretations. Hypotheses drawn from literature on nonverbal communication reflect several plausible relationships between emoticons and verbal messages. Trend analysis showed that participants took longer to recognize sexual words after exposure to neutral depictions of underage females the older the models they saw in the exposure condition. Contrary to predictions, male and female participants exposed to barely legal pornography estimated lower rather than higher prevalence and popularity of barely legal depictions than those in other conditions. Background: When people do an easy task and another person is nearby, they tend to do that task better than when they are alone. Conversely, when people do a hard task and another person is nearby, they tend to do that task less well than when they are alone. This phenomenon is referred to in the social psychology literature as social facilitation. The present study investigated whether virtual humans can evoke a social facilitation response. Method: Participants were given different tasks to do that varied in difficulty. The tasks involved anagrams, mazes, and modular arithmetic. They did the tasks alone, in the company of another person, or in the company of a virtual human on a computer screen. Results: For easy tasks, performance in the virtual human condition was better than in the alone condition, and for difficult tasks, performance in the virtual human condition was worse than in the alone condition. Conclusion: As with a human, virtual humans can produce social facilitation. Application: The results suggest that designers of virtual humans should be mindful about the social nature of virtual humans; a design decision as to when and how to present a virtual human should be a deliberate and informed decision. Drawing on a particular example from the UK, it secondly considers how industry has been constructed as a responsible actor and thus how the internet industry in the UK has aligned itself with the programmatic objectives of the European Commission. However, industry has also come up with regulatory solutions which are more ambivalent with regard to the European Commission objectives and the traditional principles of media and communication content regulation. The objective of the study was to review and synthesize the best available evidence exploring the family experience of the death of their child in the PICU.\n\nMETHODS: Studies were retrieved from CINAHL Plus, OVID Medline, Scopus, PsycINFO, and Embase. Gray literature was retrieved from greylit.com, opengrey.edu, Trove, Worldcat, and Google scholar. Study selection was undertaken by 4 reviewers by using a multistep screening process, based on a previously developed protocol (International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews 2015:CRD42015017463). Data was extracted as first-order constructs (direct quotes) or second-order constructs (author interpretations) onto a predeveloped extraction tool. Data were analyzed by thematic synthesis.\n\nRESULTS: One main theme and 3 subthemes emerged. “Reclaiming parenthood” encompasses the ways in which the parental role is threatened when a child is dying in the PICU, with the subthemes “Being a parent in the PICU,” “Being supported,” and “Parenting after death” elucidating the ways parents work to reclaim this role. The review is limited by a language bias, and by the limitations of the primary studies.\n\nCONCLUSIONS: When a child dies in a PICU, many aspects of the technology, environment, and staff actions present a threat to the parental role both during and after the child’s death.
