1- Importance de métaphores dans la pensée philosophique. Il présente la métaphore de la fusion de Gadamer comme étant très importante. Il essaie d'expliquer la fusion en restant très proche du sens commun. Il précise que l'horizon n'est pas une vision du soi.

2- Ce qui intéresse le plus, c'est la mauvaise fusion, la rupture, l'incompréhension. Le conflit représente des occasions importantes. Donc la mauvaise fusion pourrait prendre deux formes: la projection (ramener le passé dans le présent). La deuxième c'est la perte du soi dans l'autre (préjugé positif pour l'autre.) Il y a toujours le danger d'une vrai fonte métallurgique. Danger dans la démarche d'observation participante. C'est pas la fusion avec l'autre, mais la fusion des horizons.
