"abstractNote": "This collection consists of photographs of houses located between 31st and 64th streets in Savannah Georgia, mostly east of Bull Street. This collection was amassed by a local realty company as a byproduct of placing houses on the market. This area comprises many different neighborhoods including Thomas Square Streetcar Historic District/Metropolitan, Midtown, Live Oak, Victory Heights, Victory Manor/East Hill/Donwood, Baldwin Park, Bingville, Ardsley Park, Chatham Crescent, Daffin Park/Parkside Historic District, Sylvan Terrace, Ardmore/Gould Estates/Olin Heights, Abercorn Heights/Lamara Heights/Ridgewood/Poplar Heights, Sackville, Edgemere, and Springhill. Also included are materials pertaining to these residences. In addition to black and white photographs of houses, the information found in this collection is typical of a realty company: a legal description of the property, a description of the house, the asking price, and rental incomes when applicable. The material dates from approximately the 1950-1960s. Note: East 59th Street from Bull Street to Waters Avenue is now known as Columbus Avenue. 15-524 Columbus Avenue changed to 15-524 East 59th Street.",

''I began renting space two years ago because I wanted to meet new people. My B & B brings the world into my living room.'' Mr. McAlister said he found his guests a welcome change from his job as budget director for the city. ''I've never had a boring guest,'' he said, mentioning an attorney who is sailing to England in a 24-foot boat, a young woman on her way to backpack through New Guinea and a group of young men who were bicycling across America. He admitted that ''renting rooms helps me pay for heating oil, repairs and taxes, but I'm more interested in people than in the money.'' , By listing referral agencies, this booklet gives readers access to information about more than 3,000 guesthouses - but only if they take the trouble to write to the appropriate agency. One of a series (there are [Christopher] guides to the Northeast states, the Southwest states, the Southern, Midwestern and Northwestern states), this guide, like the others, specializes in budget travel and includes information about restaurants, inexpensive car rental agencies and travel ''bargains.'' Prices are not given, but the general range is indicated. Each guide is accompanied by a Rand McNally map of the region covered, and maps of major tourist areas are also included in the text itself. If you order the ''Guide to the U. S. and Canada,'' specify the area that interests you most: a map of that region will be sent with your pamphlet. You will also receive visitors' guides to major tourist attractions - and a pre-printed postcard with which you can request additional information from a tourist agency, referral service, or Chamber of Commerce. - ''Country Bed and Breakfast Places in Canada: A Guide to Warmth and Hospitality Along Canadian Highways and Byways.'' By John Thompson. Unpaged. Illustrated. $7.95. Distributed in the U.S.A. by The Berkshire Traveller Press, Stockbridge, Mass. 01262 (413-298-3636). , The most personal of all these guides and probably the most fun to read, ''Country Inns and Back Roads'' is not strictly a guide to B & B's. It is listed here because a majority of these inns do include breakfast in the price of a room. However, a few serve no food at all and others offer a full range of dining and other services. No prices are given, but pertinent information on precise location and travel instructions is included. - ''Country Inns, Lodges and Historic Hotels of the South.'' ''I've never had a boring guest,'' he said, mentioning an attorney who is sailing to England in a 24-foot boat, a young woman on her way to backpack through New Guinea and a group of young men who were bicycling across America. - ''Country Inns, Lodges and Historic Hotels of the South.''
