Discusses various aspects of migration in / from Nicaragua, including trafficking of women and adolescent girls under pretenses of work in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Costa Rica. During the last two months of 2005, 24 companies organized 373 \"trips\" to work abroad for over 8,000 Nicaraguans, of whom over 1,100 were minors and some were likely trafficked. The article discusses techniques used by traffickers to  deceive and traffic Nicaraguan women.

Discusses reasons why Colombian youths are leaving rural areas. Due to poverty, unequal distribution of land, few work and educational opportunities, youths choose domestic work or growing illegal substances (e.g. coca for production of cocaine) over traditional agriculture, as a way to become financially independent. In rural areas, adolescence is also not lived as time of personal development, but hard work for sustenance of the family, which often forces youths to work.
