O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de mapear os processos de trabalho desenvolvidos em Bibliotecas do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo (IFSP). O método utilizado foi a pesquisa-ação e o objeto de estudo foi a unidade da Biblioteca do Campus Sertãozinho do IFSP. Como resultados foram alcançados: a) mapeamento dos processos de trabalho; b) detalhamento dos processos de trabalho; c) análise dos processos e propostas de melhorias, com base na ferramenta da qualidade diagrama de causa e efeito. Concluí-se que o trabalho pode contribuir para as áreas de Gestão Pública e Ciência da Informação ao apresentar os principais processos de trabalho de uma organização tão importante como é a Biblioteca do IFSP para as atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão da instituição. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar o perfil de competências do profissional de IC no Brasil, com vistas ao estabelecimento do processo de gestão de pessoas por competência (GPC) nessa área. O levantamento de dados se baseou na utilização de\numa Web survey com a participação de profissionais de múltiplas áreas de atividade e de conhecimento envolvidos com IC no Brasil, com abordagem exploratória. Foram identificados atributos de competência que se mostraram mais importantes para atuação em IC, com base na análise da percepção dos participantes da pesquisa e nos resultados obtidos anteriormente por outros autores. Verificaram-se relações entre habilidades específicas e as funções de coordenador, analista e coletor próprias da IC, além da influência da experiência sobre habilidades relevantes. O estudo exploratório foi realizado através da análise de conteúdo, com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa, de websites de 24 bibliotecas selecionadas de melhores universidades internacionais e nacionais (Webometrics Ranking of World’s Universities, World University Rankings 2011-2012, Índice Geral de Cursos). Assim, os objetivos foram investigar e identificar tendências de aplicações de ferramentas para as atividades de mediação dos processos de acesso, busca e aprendizagem do uso de fontes de informação. Como resultado, identificou-se um panorama geral de como as bibliotecas universitárias estão realizando o processo de mediação de fontes de informação, especialmente em relação às bases de dados bibliográficas, no qual observou-se variações na escala de implementação dessas ferramentas entre as bibliotecas internacionais e as bibliotecas nacionais, bem como alguns exemplos de ferramentas puderam ser destacados. Neste contexto, o desafio que aguçou o desenvolvimento deste projeto de pesquisa, é o de analisar as ações de busca da informação e descrição (etiquetamento) de conteúdos disponíveis em plataformas interativas da Web, discutindo a viabilidade e a disponibilidade para sobre esta prática colaborativa. Diante da interatividade contemporânea na concepção de informação, este projeto também testará a viabilidade no uso de métodos cruzados para coleta de informação, dentre eles, a Netnografia, o grupo focal virtual e o levantamento de dados a partir de orientações da abordagem alternativa de estudo de usuário. Para verificação dos resultados se propõe a análise\nde conteúdo. O sistema analisado como campo de experimentação será o SACI - Sistema de Apoio a Comunicação Integrada, desenvolvido pela CCS – Coordenadoria de Comunicação Social, da UFSCar – Universidade Federal de São Carlos e as ações de busca serão verificadas a partir do produto informacional clipping, produzido e organizado por esta coordenadoria. Ao final, vislumbra-se estabelecer alguns parâmetros qualitativos sobre as atividades de inclusão da linguagem cotidiana do usuário nos instrumentos de representação da informação em ambientes híbridos, virtuais e interativos para organização e recuperação da informação.
