No obstant això aquesta recomanació freqüentment s'entén i s'aplica de manera insuficient. Des del SIMReF, fa anys que estem treballant per evidenciar la necessitat i els avantatges d'incorporar una visió de gènere i feminista en tot el procés de recerca. A més, establim contínuament xarxes amb grups que tenen línies de metodologia i de gènere com Copolis. Convidades per la unitat de gènere de la Universitat de Barcelona a dissenyar i impartir el taller Per què i com dur a terme recerca en perspectiva de gènere? Ens hem vist en la necessitat de crear un nou material en forma de preguntes per començar a reflexionar sobre les nostres investigacions. In other disciplines, there has been considerable debate about doing research, and what counts as feminist questions and research methods. But it is less easy to extend those arguments to the natural sciences, where 'objectivity'; allegedly prevails. So what does it mean when I say that I am a feminist biologist? I will explore the approaches and methodologies that feminists have advocated in relation to the practices of biology, focusing on my own work in biology and in feminist science studies. There is, however, an uneasy balance between critiques of biology – its practices and theories – and the assumptions we have to make when we work within it. I will illustrate this with reference to my recent work on human-animal relationships. Resulta complejo establecer los factores explicativos de las desigualdades de género en la salud, ya que son numerosos y están interrelacionados. Aún así, ya existen estudios que señalan que las desigualdades de género en la asignación de los trabajos (tanto remunerado como no remunerado y su combinación) puede ser uno de estos determinantes que ayuden a entender el peor estado de salud de las mujeres. De esta manera, la mayoría de las encuestas de salud incluyen alguna pregunta al respecto, pero la medición no se realiza de manera uniforme en los distintos cuestionarios. Esto puede tener consecuencias en el análisis y en la medición de las desigualdades de género que influyen en la salud, así como en las posibles comparaciones entre diferentes cuestionarios. Després de revisar algunes de les formes d'entendre la relació entre els enfocaments feminista i discursiu, defensarem que l'anàlisi d'un sol text -un mail de resposta de la British Home Office- és un bon camí per a explorar els discursos i pràctiques més difosos sobre gènere, asil i migració en el Regne Unit, particularment en referència a l'estatus de les dones pakistaneses enteses com a \"grup social específic\". L'anàlisi es desenvolupa a partir dels elements explícits i implícits de l'estructura narrativa i dels principals objectes del text. Els discursos dominants, dels quals els discursos sobre drets humans són una absència significativa, s'analitzen per a emfatitzar els processos organitzacionals i procedimentals que s'al·leguen per a assegurar la pertinença, la presa de decisions racional. Amb l'anàlisi detallat de cinc fragments curts veurem (si ens dóna temps!) el funcionament d'algunes d'aquestes estratègies discursives.
