Europawahl: Deutschlands Dominanz nährt EU-Verdrossenheit
Die anstehende Europawahl könnte die letzte sein, an der die Briten teilnehmen, warnt der Politologe Vittorio E. Parsi in der katholischen Tageszeitung Avvenire und macht das Machtungleichgewicht zwischen den EU-Mitgliedstaaten dafür verantwortlich: \"Während bis vor einigen Jahren für den Wegfall nationaler Vorrechte noch die technokratische, übernationale Brüsseler Bürokratie verantwortlich gemacht wurde, nährt heute immer mehr die Furcht vor einer vermeintlichen neuen Staatenhierarchie innerhalb der Union das Aufbegehren gegen das europäische Projekt. … Die Handhabung der Griechenlandkrise ist ein Zeichen der deutschen Vormachtstellung in der Union. Führende Politiker von Union und SPD haben sich für einen drastischen Bürokratie-Abbau in der Europäischen Union ausgesprochen. Vizekanzler Franz Müntefering sagte der \"Süddeutschen Zeitung\", das bisherige System sei ineffizient, anonym und trage damit zum wachsenden Verdruss der Bürger bei.

Der SPD-Politiker sprach sich für eine Verlängerung der EU-Ratspräsidentschaft auf bis zu zweieinhalb Jahre aus. Anders sei ein kontinuierliches Arbeiten nicht möglich. Um zu verhindern, dass jedes der derzeit 27 EU-Länder nur alle 60 Jahre den Vorsitz innehat, könnten immer drei Staaten gemeinsam die Präsidentschaft übernehmen. Momentan dauert eine Ratspräsidentschaft sechs Monate.

Ähnlich wie Müntefering prangerte auch Unions-Fraktionschef Volker Kauder die EU-Bürokratie an. Er sagte, die \"Agenturitis\" in der EU stehe im klaren Gegensatz zum erwünschten Bürokratieabbau. Die Staatengemeinschaft entferne sich \"durch immer neue Regelungskompetenzen immer stärker von den Bürgern\", schrieb der CDU-Politiker in einem vorab veröffentlichten Beitrag für die \"Welt am Sonntag\". Viele Menschen wüssten nicht mehr, wer für zentrale Entscheidungen zuständig sei.
