The researcher used semi-structured in-depth interviews, investigating these perceptions among 12 faculty across 10 disciplines. Findings support the role of library instruction in service-learning, with a focus on helping students engage with non-scholarly sources. Conclusions also suggest a need for additional marketing of library services to faculty who may have misconceptions about librarians' scope of practice. The Science Librarian created the content by using aspects of the Information Literacy Standards for Science and Technology/Engineering, an informal survey of biology faculty, and assignments for the biology labs. The Instructional Design Librarian created multiple modules that engaged users through text, images, audio, and interactive tutorials. The researchers used Universal Design for Learning principles to address multiple learning styles, specifically multiple means of representation, and created a mapping technique for those principles that can be applied to any library tutorial. The authors then identify various trends drawn from the wider evaluation discourse that they think are likely to be relevant to Information literacy (IL) practitioners, academic staff, employers and others who are concerned with impact evaluation of IL work. The trends identified are: • growing clarity about the levels of evaluation expertise needed to deliver information literacy support from the perspectives of leaders of LIS education programmes, staff of academic institutions, library leaders and managers and IL practitioners, • growing interest in more inclusive or democratic approaches to impact evaluation • the limitations of the simple logic model of evaluation • re-purposing of existing data to meet new evaluation needs • collecting and presenting stories of change as impact evaluation evidence. Implications for IL practitioners are offered in relation to each of these trends. The authors predict that over the next ten years there will be a strong focus on whether IL interventions are having an impact in combating misinformation and disinformation; more systematic and sustained approaches to IL impact evaluation in the health and higher education sectors but less so in some school libraries and other settings. They think that the more proactive public libraries will adopt IL evaluation approaches, that workplace IL will continue to depend upon the organisational culture, and that research on information seeking in context will shed light on evaluation priorities. The sessions were re-designed to emphasize the core concepts of information literacy while incorporating active learning activities and discussion.Findings The authors found the Cephalonian method to be a useful structure for incorporating aspects of the ACRL Framework into the first-year library instruction program. The call-and-response format fosters conversations and leads seamlessly into hands-on activities. Several limitations of broadly applying GPA and first-year retention as measures of student success were recently discovered while completing a large exploratory research project. The project assessed the impact of a library assignment offered to students during their first term on campus at a large public research university. Findings revealed the assignment had a greater impact on regional campus students in contrast to the larger central campus, where changes in admission requirements has created an increasingly high-performing cohort of first-year students.
