Deux espèces ont été décrites par Vachon : Lissothus bernardi de la Lybie et Lissothus occidentalis de la Mauritanie. Ces deux espèces sont considérées comme distinctes et valables. Un nouveau genre et\nune nouvelle espèce, Pseudolissothus pusillus n. gen. n. sp. sont décrits pour l’Algérie. Les deux genres, Lissothus et Pseudolissothus n. gen., sont associés par une morphologie générale avec une presque totale absence de carènes sur le corps et les pédipalpes, mais peuvent cependant être facilement distingués par\ndes modèles différents de trichobothriotaxie. Lissothus présente une trichobothriotaxie du type A-β, avec une néobothriotaxie minorante et l’absence de d2 au fémur et de esb au doigt fixe. Chez Pseudolissothus n. gen., le modèle est du type A-α, orthobothriotaxique.
