Based on the concept of α-cuts, the method represents a special implementation of fuzzy arithmetic that avoids the well-known effect of overestimation which usually arises when fuzzy arithmetic is reduced to interval computation. Systems with uncertain model parameters can thus be simulated without any artificial widening of the simulation results. As a by-product of the implementation scheme, the transformation method also provides a measure of influence to quantitatively analyze the uncertain system with respect to the effect of each uncertain model parameter on the overall uncertainty of the model output. By this, a special kind of sensitivity analysis can be defined on the basis of fuzzy arithmetic. Finally, to show the efficiency of the transformation method, the method is applied to the simulation and analysis of a model for the friction interface between the sliding surfaces of a bolted joint connection. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. For deterministic or stochastic models such problems are solved by use of differential equations describing the short-term laws. But if the short-term laws of evolution are known only in a fuzzy form and the information on the initial state of the system is also fuzzy or if we do not have a reasonable statistical model describing the systems environment the fuzzy approach is more appropriate. We will show, that the introduction of the fuzzy state, fuzzy velocity and use of the fuzzy logic rules for obtaining the equation of evolution of the system leads to a consistent description of the fuzzy dynamics. Our approach is based on the fuzzy master equation - an analog of the equation describing the Markov process in stochastic dynamics. For continuous evolution we obtain differential equations describing the flows of the fuzzy state. Two cases of \"weak and strong fuzziness\" are considered. In this paper, a Fuzzy Causal Model (FCA) for man-machine-environment system hazard analysis which embodying the both as above is brought forward and discussed and applied into hoisting operation superfluities risk computation. Primary achievements are obtained as followed:. A FCA based on fuzzy numbers is constructed, and computation analytic solution for the model on account of fuzzy number is put forward, in addition, the computation results are compared with those of α-cut set simplified computation method and Fuzzy Fault Tree (FFT), which shows computation scientificalness and accuracy of the FCA. Compared to FFT, FCA can better to describe fuzzy logic relations of events which lead to accidents; while compared to Bayesian Network, the inputs and outputs of FCA are defined as fuzzy numbers which can reflect data uncertainty and keep fuzzy information of data. Not only Accident occurrence possibility fuzzy values but also their membership degrees are computed based on the models which may give richer, more useable information for risk management of accidents. Pour surmonter cette difficulté, deux approches ont été étudiées dans cette thèse. La première consiste à construire un modèle réduit. Deux techniques ont été utilisées : la première est la méthode POD (Proper Orthogonal Decomposition) liée au comportement statistique du système. La seconde est relative à la réduction du nombre de simulations demandé par la méthode Monte-Carlo classique de propagation d'incertitude. Dans ce contexte, l'évaluation environnementale, qui a déjà acquis pendant les dernières années un rôle important dans la conception et l'innovation, deviendra primordiale. Plusieurs concepts, du Développement Durable à l'Ecologie Industrielle en passant par l'Eco-Efficience, et différents outils, de l'Analyse du Cycle de Vie au Management du Cycle de Vie en passant pas l'Evaluation des Risques, ont déjà été développés pour contribuer à ce qu'on appelle l'éco-innovation, autrement dit l'innovation selon des critères environnementaux. Pourtant, la mise en œuvre de ces approches souffre encore de deux principales limitations : les résultats des outils d'évaluation environnementale (par exemple de l'Analyse du Cycle de Vie) sont souvent controversés à cause de la méconnaissance de leurs incertitudes faute d'une méthodologie pertinente; l'application des outils à la conception et l'innovation des PSP nécessite encore un cadre méthodologique et des procédures bien définies; les approches pour l'éco-innovation sont souvent fragmentaires et non structurées. Nous proposons une contribution à la résolution de ces problèmes, à savoir : une méthode d'Evaluation des Impacts du Cycle de Vie qui permet de prendre en compte l'ensemble des incertitudes au sens large (l'imprécision, la variabilité et l'incertitude au sens strict), l'ébauche d'une méthode de conception de l'ecoinnovation des produits, services et procédés, qui intègre l'évaluation de l'incertitude des impacts. La méthodologie proposée, se décompose en trois étapes de modélisation. La première, est relative aux études préparatoires de définition du système et de traitement des données d’entrées. La seconde, correspond à la simula-tion et aux analyses des résultats du modèle, notamment l'estimation d'incertitude, la déter-mination des variables les plus influentes et l'analyse de sensibilité. Enfin, la dernière est consacrée à la finalisation du modèle en vue de son exploitation pour la prise de décision. Les deux premières étapes s’enchaînent selon un processus en boucle jusqu'à ce que l'analyste décide de le terminer selon des critères qu’il aura au préalable définis. Cette méthodologie a été testée sur deux modèles, l’un en statique et l’autre en dynamique. Pour réaliser la simulation, un programme a été conçu au cours de la thèse à l’aide du logiciel MATLAB. Le programme permet de simuler des modèles statiques et dynamiques et d’effectuer des études des comportements d'un système donné selon différentes typologies de varia-bles : exactes, floues et mixtes (avec des lois d’appartenances variées pour les variables floues). Deux études de cas issus de la littéra-ture ont été modélisées puis simulées en vue d’effectuer une analyse de sensibilité, d’incertitude et d’influence des variables exo-gènes The objective of this thesis is to propose a fuzzy logic based modelling in order to improve re-gional material flow analysis taking in account data uncertainties. The proposed methodology is executed in three modelling stages. The first one concerns pre-liminary studies of system definition and input data treatment. The second corresponds to simulation as well as analysis of the model re-sults, namely, estimation of uncertainty, deter-mination of most influent variables, and sensi-tivity analysis. Finally the third stage is con-cerned with finalizing the model for its exploi-tation as a tool for the decision-making. The first two stages are executed in loop until the analyst decides to end the modelling process according to the criteria initially fixed. The methodology was tested on two models, one static and the other dynamic. To carry out the simulation, a program was developed during the realisation of this thesis using MATLAB software.
