I've been runnung corn cob bedding and coffee grounds, 60/40, in bags for Oysters. I'm happy with it.

Two tips : Soak - soak - soak that corn cob. Note there is more nutrition available than one might think. I read somewhere corn cob wasn't particularly suitable, excepting as an amendment.

Fungal mycelium produced by submerged fermentation has a very low level of flavor compounds and therefore this technique still requires significant improvement (Hadar and Dosoretz 1991). In fact, Belinky et al. (1994) showed that the addition of soybean flour and soybean oil to the growth medium in a submerged culture of P. pulmonarius enhances 1-octen-3-ol formation to a level similar to or even higher than that in fruiting bodies.

There was no correlation between the extent of the degradation of these components and the yield of of sporophores, while the energy recovery of substrate in the mushroom was highest for cocoyam peels and least for sawdust of B. angustifolia, 3.7 and 0.5%, respectively.
