La investigación se enmarca dentro del tipo descriptivo, con un diseño no experimental, transeccional - de campo; la población estuvo conformada por 363 docentes, aplicándose un muestreo probabilístico, estratificado y proporcional, quedando conformado por 191 profesores. Se empleó un procesamiento cuantitativo, mediante la estadística descriptiva (medidas de tendencia central y variabilidad). Se concluyó, que existen grandes limitaciones en las Instituciones analizadas en cuanto a la aplicación de las tecnologías de información y comunicación dentro del proceso de enseñanza, especialmente en aquellos aspectos relacionados con los recursos que disponen para implantar una plataforma tecnológica que permita a todos sus miembros emplear las tecnologías; así como las competencias que poseen los docentes en cuanto a su utilización. Se recomienda, dar a conocer los resultados de la investigación a las respectivas instituciones estudiadas, para tomar medidas en cuanto a ofrecer apoyo institucional en la actualización del docente con respecto al uso de las TIC en el proceso de enseñanza, además de brindar ambientes de aprendizajes colaborativos donde existan los recursos necesarios para lograr mayor participación de los alumnos y docentes en las actividades educativas. The present research intends to determine the limitations of Information and CommunicationTechnologies in the university programs offered by Institutos Universitarios de Tecnología from Cabimas City Hall, Zulia. The research is descriptive with a nonexperimental, transectional field design, which sample was composed of 363 professors, to whom a probabilistic stratified proportional sampling was applied, being reduced to 191 professors. A descriptive statistics quantitative procedure was used, (central tendency and variability measures). We concluded that, in the institutions under analysis, there are large limitations in relation with a) the application of ICT in the teaching-learning process, especially concerning the resources available for elaborating a technological platform that may allow the use technologies, b) the competencies that professors have to use ICT. This article examines two possible explanations – first, that convincing evidence of improved learning outcomes remains surprisingly elusive, and second, the unresolved debate over whether ICT should be conceived of as supporting delivery of a traditional or a radically different vision of pedagogy based on soft skills and new digital literacies. Se consideran dos ámbitos de aplicación de la robótica en la educación: el primero es el aprendizaje de la robótica mediante la conceptualización de cada uno de los subsistemas de un robot para luego realizar la construcción de robots con diferentes propósitos, en este ámbito el objetivo es desarrollar las competencias, en los estudiantes, para el diseño y construcción de tecnofactos robóticos, mediante un proceso de construcción del conocimiento necesario para hacerlo; el segundo ámbito de aplicación es la utilización de la robótica como medio que motiva y da sentido a la construcción de conocimiento en diversas �reas, promoviendo habilidades y competencias en los estudiantes. Adem�s, el aprendizaje de la rob�tica y el aprendizaje con robótica pueden ser mediados por la inform�tica, la cual aporta tecnologías y herramientas software como los lenguajes de modelado matem�tico y simulación, tutoriales multimediales, laboratorios virtuales y remotos, entre otros. As�, este art�culo se propone destacar c�mo la rob�tica en el aula de clase permite, por una parte, el enriquecer estrategias de aprendizaje como apoyo a la formaci�n integral de los estudiantes, y por otra, es un campo que presenta una demanda creciente en la atenci�n de docentes e investigadores, as� como en los est�mulos para su investigaci�n, desarrollo y divulgaci�n de parte del estado.\n\nThis paper analyzes some experiences, previously reviewed in literature, about the use of robotics in education in order to obtain relevant models for the design of a proposal about robotics learning at Basic Secondary and Middle education levels. Two scopes of application of robotics in education are considered: firstly, learning robotics by defining the context of each robot subsystems and then creating robots for different purposes. The objective in this case is the development of skills for the design and construction of robotic artifacts, a process that implies the acquisition of the necessary knowledge to accomplish this task. The second scope of application is the use of robotics ?? to encourage knowledge construction in different areas, fostering students? development ok skills and competences. Learning robotics and learning with robotics can be supported by computer science since this area provides software technology and tools such as Math Modeling and language simulation, Multimedia Tutorials, Virtual and Remote laboratories, among others. The purpose of this article is to highlight the importance of robotics in the classroom to enrich learning strategies which contribute to student?s comprehensive education. En la primera parte, plantea la necesidad de educar para una sociedad del conocimiento y no sólo de la información; educar para reducir la denominada brecha digital e informacional; y educar con una visión equilibrada de la integración de las TIC en educación, situándose en un punto medio entre la postura apologética que vaticina un proceso de innovación disruptiva en educación, que solo permitirá la sobrevivencia de centros educativos que incorporen las TIC como parte fundamental de su quehacer educativo, y la postura apocalíptica, que aboga por la desconexión tecnológica en los centros educativos por sus efectos contraproducentes en la formación. En la actualidad, en algunas universidades se han comenzado a introducir nuevos métodos de enseñanza y aprendizaje apoyados en la telemática, el constructivismo y el colaboracionismo. Como evidencia empírica de estos supuestos cabe destacar la experiencia tenida con un grupo de estudiantes de la Licenciatura en Administración de la Universidad Nacional Experimental Simón Rodríguez, la cual permitió conocer cómo se produce cierto tipo y nivel de aprendizaje significativo en ambientes virtuales. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que los participantes son capaces, en breve tiempo, de mejorar su actitud y destreza respecto a las implicaciones, ventajas y manejo instrumental de las TIC, así como construir conocimientos de mayor nivel y utilidad práctica, centrados en los objetivos propuestos en la unidad curricular respectiva The widespread use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) has impacted every field of human activity. Nowadays, in some universities, new teaching and learning methods have been introduced, based on telematics, constructivism and collaborationism. As empirical proof for these suppositions, this study highlights the experience of a group of undergraduate students in Administration at the Experimental National University Simón Rodríguez (in Venezuela), which has made it possible to understand how a certain type and level of significant knowledge can be produced in virtual environments.
