Es un artículo publicado en una revista académica de psicología, cosa que nos hace ver que la procrastinación se aborda desde ésta disciplina. En el artículo se abordan diferentes conceptos y argumentos; se ha encontrado que evidenciar comportamientos relacionados con la procrastinación está relacionado con: una baja autoestima, déficit en autoconfianza, déficit de auto-control, depresión, comportamientos de desorganización y en algunos casos perfeccionismo, impulsividad disfuncional y ansiedad. Se incluyen conceptos varios que van desde autores que afirman que la evitación frente a la realización de una actividad se presenta debido a que ésta se percibe como poco placentera frente a una serie de actividades que pueden generar mayores niveles de satisfacción hasta planteamientos sobre que la procrastinación se puede explicar cómo miedo al fracaso debido al establecimiento de relaciones familiares patológicas, donde el rol de los padres ha facilitado la maximización de frustraciones. Lógicamente en la aparición de la procrastinación intervienen una serie de factores psicológicos que se han de abordar desde ésta disciplina.

Among the undergraduate procrastinators, the younger students were more likely to engage in active procrastination while the older students tended to engage in passive procrastination. be quite common among undergraduates and time management is thought to be one of the possible reasons of it. Two surveys, academic procrastination and time management, were given to 332 undergraduate students in this correlational research. Students' academic procrastination is explained through frequencies and percentages and a correlation is questioned between academic procrastination and time management. Regression analysis is used to find out if time management predicts academic procrastination in a statistically significant way. Besides, students' level of time management (low, medium, high) is examined and covariance analysis has been carried out to see if time management level and gender, time management level and housing type (private or state dormitory or house), time management level and their major and time management level and where they live have a common effect on academic procrastination. Results indicate that students are generally indecisive about their behaviors of procrastination in academic tasks and are in middle level in terms of time management skills. There is a moderate level, negative sided and statistically significant correlation between academic procrastination and time management. Todas las variables han sido medidas a través de cuestionarios de autoinforme, en una población de universitarios en modalidad a distancia/en línea. Asimismo, se postula un posible efecto de amortiguación o buffering del Engagement sobre los efectos nocivos de la Procrastinación Académica.
