key issues that may modulate the academic career of a university student. In the first place, we study the issue of the university access, with its implications regarding pathways, possibilities and limits. We raise the issue of the effectiveness of the current process, especially considering the functions traditionally assigned to the entrance exam from secondary education: the match of knowledge, the valuation of the student maturity, external assessment system, the prediction of the success of the university studies, and the placement of students at different degrees. Secondly, we approach the issue of the entrance into the university scene, a singular and important transition procedure where the connection between this institution and postcompulsory secondary education is vital. This issue is specially focused on two important points: competence’s values in the formative progress and the adoption of a whole and comprehensive perspective to understand university student. En primer lugar, revisamos los trabajos realizados sobre estos materiales en España y, a pesar de la importancia que tienen en nuestro sistema educativo, no hemos encontrado muchos que se hayan ocupado de aquellos que se elaboraron durante la Reforma LOE. Nos centramos en algunos elementos que consideramos fundamentales en estos recursos didácticos: la estructura de las lecciones y los tipos de contenidos (conceptos, procedimientos y actitudes) a través del análisis de las actividades de aprendizaje planteadas por seis libros de texto de editoriales conocidas, relativas al bloque “Electricidad y electrónica” de Tecnología de 3º ESO, y su adecuación o no a la normativa vigente en la CARM. At this point, on request of the Journal Eureka, the teachers in the area of Sciences have the opportunity to compare the training proposals that different universities are developing. In this paper, we characterize the organization of the subjects of Didactics of Physics and Didactics of Chemistry in the UCM, from the descriptors and competences analysis, contents and assessment. El estudio se basa en los postulados de la cognición docente en el sentido de que los docentes construyen sus propios esquemas a partir de sus experiencias con el fin de comprender, planificar y responder a la dinámica de su aula. Este estudio cualitativo consistió en entrevistas y observaciones de cuatro futuros profesores de ciencias, y un análisis de los programas de formación inicial que han recibido. Para analizar los datos se combinaron métodos de inducción analítica de caso único y de casos cruzados. Con los datos obtenidos, se puede concluir que se adoptaron algunos de los aspectos del programa de formación inicial, tales como el aprendizaje centrado en el estudiante, el aprendizaje cooperativo, y el conocimiento pedagógico general.
