"note": "
Basically this article is about a study that is conducted in regards to five password - management beahviors to answer questions about \"motivation behind password selection, the password- managment behavior, and user knowledge of password quality\" ( the article). This is a study done Old Dominion University in response to a quote by the journal of Behavior & Information Technology saying that \"humans remain the weakest link in Internet security\" ( the article). The conclusions of the study were that users know what a good and bad password is but will soemtiems engage in bad password-management behavior because he or she does not see the negative result that will occur immediately. In addition the study found that a time frame factor is more important for online banking accounts. Anywhere else could lead to either stronger passwords or weaker passwords.
\n
This is a useful source and the information is realiable. The study is presented clearly as to what was done and how it was carried out. Although we do not know which type of students the study was conducted on or how many students the research is based on. This source comes from an objective point of view and does not include much opinion in the article. This source is useful in discussing password management and security within accounts that students own.
\n
This article fits into a research topic of Internet Security. This article is useful in identifying how serious people take Internet Security for their own computer and just in general. This source can shape the argument that Internet Security on a college campus is not the highest priority of college students. This claim is based on the study performed at Old Dominion University. This source has changed the way I think about Internet Security. How much do I really know about Internet Security or how often should passwords be changed? How much do I care if my Internet is secure? These are the questions that arose in my mind while reading this article. I will be looking more into Internet security. All in all this source was helpful.
\n
It's always interesting to see how universities are improving their technology whether it be for university community. Although this is not the Mason community, I have seen first hand how Mason is imporving its information technology. I wanted to see how another school is improving its information technology to help the community.
",
