            "abstractNote": "Objective: To understand the meanings youngsters give to their participation in three education programs for sexual and reproductive health in Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Lebrija and Socorro, which contribute to the improvement of the educational programs offered to these population groups. Methodology: A qualitative descriptive approach, carried out in Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Lebrija and Socorro in the period of October 2011 to April 2012. Semi-structured group and individual interviews were conducted with the youngsters of the four municipalities who participated in the program, using the Taylor & Bogdan's methodological design for the analysis of the interviews. Results: Youngsters participating in the educational programs identified them as a positive experience that impacted different scenarios in their lives, highlighting the strengthening of communication skills and sexual rights as thematic content of greater remembrance. Conclusions: The youngsters constructed meanings from their participation in the program both individually and in groups through social interaction, which have influenced their sexuality experience and the practices at various stages of their lives, in their roles as children, as friends, as a couple, as leaders and as part of a social group.             "abstractNote": "Objective: To show the design and the results of the implementation of an extracurricular participatory educational strategy aimed at improving sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young people at Cuban university institutions. Methods: A developing study was carried out with quantitative and qualitative techniques. It identified the learning requirements on this topic by using Leiva Gonzalez's model. A structured questionnaire was given to 592 students from two university institutions in Havana in addition to creating focal groups and to making in depth interviews to experts. Results: An extracurricular educational strategy was designed and included the components training and communication which break down into a set of actions. There were found deficiencies in sexual education, low perception of risk of pregnancy or of catching some sexually transmitted disease, frequent change of partners as common practice, in both genders; early onset of sexual relations and little use of condom together with poor communication between parents and children. Conclusions: The design of the educational strategy leads to fostering responsible thinking in young people about sexual and reproductive health. Its implementation has been feasible and has achieved good results that contribute to favor the self-control in sexual and reproductive health on the part of adolescents and young people; additionally, this strategy allows that once they graduate from their respective educational levels, they could adequately carry out promotion, prevention and educational activities for the health improvement of the people they work with.             "abstractNote": "El objetivo del estudio fue identificar las actitudes, conocimientos, creencias y grado de masculinidad y femineidad que poseen los docentes de quinto y sexto año de educación primaria de Hermosillo, Sonora, México, con respecto a los contenidos temáticos del programa de educación sexual incluidos en los programas oficiales de la Secretaría de Educación Pública. De un total de 741 profesores de quinto y sexto año, se seleccionó una muestra de 144 docentes, 73 de quinto y 71 de sexto. Para medir actitudes y conocimientos, el instrumento que se utilizó fue el desarrollado por el Consejo Nacional de Población (CONAPO). La dimensión masculinidad y femineidad se midió con un instrumento realizado por Ibarra (1999). Los resultados muestran correlaciones bajas y significativas entre las medidas. El promedio de conocimientos sobre sexo y sexualidad de los profesores fue de 61 por ciento. Las variables medidas varían significativamente con los factores temporales de edad y antigüedad del profesor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]",

In Panama, as in other Latin American countries, violence against children and women does not allow people to realize own bodylines and less their right to pleasure. Present programs about sexual education, pregnancy prevention and AIDS promote the use of preservatives and abstinence but do not include the ethics of pleasure. Frequently, the health and training personnel are not prepared to speak about the topic. The use of sexual pleasure as a merchandise in media creates greater confusion. Bioethics must integrate psychological and anthropological studies and a sense of humanity to allow this personnel to work with persons towards the integral appropriation of human beings. (English)",

            "abstractNote": "It is shown up an investigation directed to identify psychosocial components to be taken into account for designing an educational intervention aimed to the prevention of pregnancy, in high school adolescents. Results are shown on: sexual behavior; knowledge on pregnancy and their preventive measures; and necessities perceived as regards sexual education. A sample of 250 students was taken of two educative institutes of Táriba city, in Venezuela. Questionnaires with Líkert type items were applied and the data were processed and analyzed by means of descriptive statistic and t tests to compare groups. Results indicate that adolescents have sexual little experience, they only manage basic knowledge and they maintain erroneous beliefs around the use of protection measures. Adolescents manifest the necessity to receive sexual education that not only includes specific knowledge about sexuality and reproductive health, but also training in social abilities, related with the assertive behavior, interpersonal communication and self-esteem, aspects that would allow them to better manage their partners relationships. It is concluded that it is important to consider the characteristics, necessities and the adolescents' concerns as regards sexuality and personal development, in order to be able to design effective educational interventions.
