The manual (hand-held) approach to collecting this data is technically simple and still popular in the case of archaeology. However, an extensive amount of work during image collection is a strong motivation for building RTI acquisition systems, which are also popular, in most cases, in the shape of domes. The research presented in the article focuses on two aspects of building such a device. First, the study examines the effect of the placement and number of lights on the resulting RTI model for a system based on LED stripe-shaped circuits. Secondly, the camera component was studied. Recent development in the area of low-cost accessories for microcomputers resulted in a few new industrial-grade USB cameras with the possibility to take high-resolution images. Cameras designed for use with microcomputers offer broad control of the focus or exposition parameters and provide the possibility to build RTI domes with the fully integrated camera, therefore, almost complete automatization of the capturing and processing of MLIC data. This paper presents the main assumptions and elements of the dome-shaped measurement system, which enables automatic RTI data acquisition and processing together with the evaluation of light configuration used to build relightable models. Amphoras handles with stamps and ancient pottery were used as an objects to evaluate the quality of the relightable models generated from the images acquired by a programmable miniature Arducam camera. These opportunities have led to the creation of a new social class composed of two subclasses: data workers and data owners. The emergence of this new class repositions existing classes, including the traditional working class and the capitalist class, creating strong divergences that threaten social cohesion. What can we do to ensure cohesion and the proper functioning of society? The book argues for the establishment of a regulatory framework and the institutions necessary if we are to open data up and, where appropriate, exchange and trade it, all on a global scale. These manuscripts are increasingly being made available in digital formats, although the extent is perhaps less than expected; a recent report on the situation in Germany estimated that only about 7.5% of the country’s 60,000 manuscripts had been digitized. Discovering these manuscripts is heavily dependent on the quality and consistency of descriptive data about them, but the current situation is very mixed and inconsistent, despite several national programmes (such as Manuscriptorium in the Czech Republic, e-codices in Switzerland, and Biblissima in France) and a major international effort by Europeana. This article reports on recent work in manuscript studies, drawing on two major international projects. The first, funded by the European Union between 2014 and 2016, focused on the manuscript collection assembled in the nineteenth century by Sir Thomas Phillipps. It investigated ways of reconstructing the history of this vast, but now-dispersed collection, by bringing together data from a range of digital and non-digital sources. The second project, Mapping Manuscript Migrations, funded by the Trans-Atlantic Platform under its Digging into Data Challenge from 2017 to 2019, extends the earlier work to a much larger scale, and implements a Linked Open Data framework for combining and managing data related to medieval and Renaissance manuscripts. This pattern suggests that there were two co-existing market sectors. The geometrical characteristics related to the symmetry of the Antikythera Mechanism design, are independent to the present irregular\ndeformation of the Mechanism parts and were used as calibration points for the Saros spiral cells positional measurements. The Saros cells numbering was recalculated using the calibration points position. A correction of minus one to the currently accepted numbering of the Saros cells was applied. Following the new numbering, a new proper position for the (displaced) Saros pointer axis-g, in graphic design environment was calculated. The measurements were tested on a bronze reconstruction of the Back plate, by the authors. This research leads to a new important result that the Saros does not start in a random or arbitrary date but only when a solar eclipse occurs within a month. Additional results were also calculated regarding the symmetry of the eclipse events/sequence. "Doksanalt" } ], "abstractNote": "Knidos, situated at the southwestern tip of Asia Minor is a city with double-view and a grid (hippodamic) plan, located on two harbors. A building complex has been discovered in the south of the city consisting of seven juxtaposed quadrilateral Rooms and 4 sub-places belonging to the first three of these rooms at a distance of 45 meters from the starting point of the street which is called “Harbor Street”. This complex, which was constructed as part of a major renovation in the second quarter of the fourth century BC, was used for a row of shops in line. The changes in the plan and architectural factors detected on the site indicate that the building called “Room 4,” which is the main focus of this study, had a different function during the Roman Imperial period. This structure, which had been used as a modest shop during the late Classical and Hellenistic periods, became a splendid heroon with Corinthian distyle in antis during the late Antonine period. The heroon consisted of two sections, a rectangular planned Room, and a platform where the tomb of the heroon’s owner was located as well as a rectangular niche. “Room 4” was later turned into a workshop and/or shop with some changes during Late Antiquity. Although the current data show that the heroon was turned into a workshop, archaeological excavations could not identified what kind of a workshop or shop it was. However, the duct system, amphorae placed in it, the high-temperature furnace in the corner of the structure, heavy iron dross, a depot and containers for storage, and spatheia amphorae containing yellow paint indicate manufacturing activities based on a heating and cooling system. The transformation of the structure from heroon to workshop/shop is traced by the archaeological data, particularly coins found there, which show that this change took place around the first quarter of the fifth century AD. The data regarding the use of the workshop/shop are verified as reliable, again thanks to the coins. Bronze coins found in amphora nests and on the ground provide information about the last use of the structure. Based on these and extensive ceramic findings, the workshop/shop was used during the sixth century AD and abandoned in the mid-seventh century. Ceramic findings are directly connected to the last use of the structure, dated to the seventh century AD, are divided into four groups: fine ware (26%), cooking ware (12%), plain ware (26%), and amphorae (36%). The densest group that was brought to light was amphorae with 36%. This ratio should be deemed normal considering the storage, production, and commercial functions of the structure. This study offers new suggestions for the compromised dating of some forms found in the structure (African Red-Slip Hayes Form 109). The idea that spatheia amphorae, directly related to the original use phase of the workshop/shop in Late Antiquity, could have also been used for the transport of paint (sulfur or perite) can be discussed. This study provides some evaluations made based on daily usage types or secondary uses of some amphorae (spatheion) in antiquity. In this study, new suggestions about usage and contents of spatheion amphorae were given in the light of chemical analyzes. According to chemical analysis, three amphoras contain sulfur or perite.
