Summary:
This article focuses on the need to merge the concepts of research and instructional faculty. The author states that these two components of academia have become conflicting to the point of antagonistic and that through institutional restructuring a more effective environment can be created.

\n

Question:
What is the manner in which people outside of the core research community can contribute or interact with academic research.

\n

Critical Analysis:
The original concept of this article was interesting, but it wonders off several places. Additionally, the authors provide very loose and vague descriptions on how exactly academic institutions can restructure to accomplish their recommended goal. I will not likely use this in my research except to point out that undergraduates are rarely involved in academic research.

Based on a survey of 165 community members, this study uses structural equation modelling (SEM) approach to investigate the research model. The analytical results strongly support the appropriateness of the research model in identifying the determinants of success of online communities. The analytical results also showed that system quality, information quality and service quality had a significant effect on member loyalty through user satisfaction and behavioural intention to use the online community.
