"abstractNote": "The blooming development of ICT and its implementation for the needs of the education institutions has presented a new set of challenges for both instructors and students. The introduction of many different approaches for learning, like face to face learning, e-Iearning, distance learning has presented new ways for obtaining knowledge, but has also resulted in destabilization of the general learning processes. This paper identifies the key challenges, which are the result of this rapid and inevitable implementation of the ICT technologies in education, for both the instructors and the learners. An additional investigation on the situations, which present the modern ICT services as being implemented with and without the use of the technological convergence, is also conducted. The Introduction section of the paper presents the global state of the ICT technologies for educational purposes and the four most common and widely available types of virtual learning environments. Then the common goals of ICT in education are defined, followed by the most significant advantages and disadvantages of using ICT for education. In the next Section of the paper the importance and the impact of the ICT convergence on the learning process, on the instructors and on the students are analyzed. The paper is completed by the Conclusions and the Reference sections.",

"abstractNote": "Individual creativity is ubiquitous. New technologies both enable and urge fresh approaches to creativity in the context of education. University-level education offers a natural place to adjust pedagogical structures in favor of a more individual approach to learning that organizes the intellectual community into new patters of interaction and time allocation. This direction is made possible by the vast improvements in access to information, data, knowledge, and opinion. College students live in this world of access, in an ever-expanding sea of material. Networking second-by-second is central to their zeitgeist. The result is far more than social. Interaction and collaboration are now important in most workplaces, and are expected to be even more important in the future. Higher education needs to use its natural resources in ways that develop content knowledge and skills in a culture infused at new levels by investigation, cooperation, connection, integration, and synthesis. Creativity is necessary to accomplish this goal. When central and culturally pervasive, creativity becomes exemplified and enhanced for every student. Problem solving becomes the driving pedagogy. Problem solving is a technique that can be advanced through practice, but practice takes time. Universities must meet the challenge of reapportioning time if suggested changes are to occur. These matters are important to P-12 arts education, because colleges prepare teachers and citizens who then provide leadership. Possibilities abound for changing paradigms that now hold arts education back in many policy situations. It is important to take advantage of opportunities inherent in the coincidence of present conditions, youthful energy, technological capabilities, and interest in creativity. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]",

"abstractNote": "There is huge explosion in the number of new databases, applications and documents in the recent past. This results into lot of redundancy and duplication, which leads to high inefficiency in query processing. Most of the users, who need the information, are naive, because they do not have knowledge of internal structures of databases, contents of data sources and query languages. So it is very difficult for them to query and analyze the desired data from autonomous, geographically distributed and heterogeneous data sources. Query expansion is used to answer the users¿ queries to improve performance and effectiveness of queries. We propose a solution for expanding the users¿ queries with the support of ontology so that recall is improved and information loss is minimized while answering users¿ queries. This results into lot of redundancy and duplication, which leads to high inefficiency in query processing. Most of the users, who need the information, are naïve, because they do not have knowledge of internal structures of databases, contents of data sources and query languages. So it is very difficult for them to query and analyze the desired data from autonomous, geographically distributed and heterogeneous data sources. Query expansion is used to answer the users' queries to improve performance and effectiveness of queries. Human communication is more successful when there is an implicit understanding of everyday situations of others who take part in the communication. Similar to human communication, if an automated system could keep or capture the contextual information related to a user and the query, then it could use this information to process the query, resulting more useful answers. As this contextual information depends on the query domain, if the automated system could identify the domain of the query, then it could expand the query with domain specific contextual information and user preferences related to the query domain. This paper briefs the requirements of such a query expansion and describes an algorithm to identify application domains of user queries.",

"abstractNote": "The experience of a user of major search engines or other web information retrieval services looking for information in the Basque language is far from satisfactory: they only return pages with exact matches but no inflections (necessary for an agglutinative language like Basque), many results in other languages (no search engine gives the option to restrict its results to Basque), etc. This paper proposes using morphological query expansion and language-filtering words in combination with the APIs of search engines as a very cost-effective solution to build appropriate web search services for Basque. The implementation details of the methodology (choosing the most appropriate language-filtering words, the number of them, the most frequent inflections for the morphological query expansion, etc.) have been specified by corpora-based studies. The improvements produced have been measured in terms of precision and recall both over corpora and real web searches. Morphological query expansion can improve recall up to 47 % and language-filtering words can raise precision from 15 % to around 90 %, although with a loss in recall of about 30-35 %. The proposed methodology has already been successfully used in the Basque search service Elebila (http://www.elebila.eu) and the web-as-corpus tool CorpEus (http://www.corpeus.org), and the approach could be applied to other morphologically rich or under-resourced languages as well. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht.",

"abstractNote": "The objectives raised in this paper are to pave the new dimension to Internet searching and bring the semantic core strategies to the forefront to add values to the search process. In precise, \"the search must be what user wish, not what user types\". To know the process of search intricacy, we observed the vocabulary contradiction and mismatch problem existence during retrieval can estimate the irrelevant document matching. Generally, a term or vocabulary mismatch can happens to the search iteration only if the terms not present in the fetched documents. Many techniques have been proposed such as library science, pseudo relevance feedback and later semantic indexing etc, where all the algorithms tend to find the objectives sustained but did not deal with alternate process. Hence we have proposed a technique which gives the sheer implications of all the pitfalls and device a new mechanism to support the mismatch problem. By bringing the semantics aspects of the sentences and word order of the sentence to the core part, we have emulated the proper solution to get rid of sentence or term mismatch problem.",
