\nSaavuimme juuri kaksikymmentäyksi . Menimme baariin ja wow poikaväkijoukkoon täällä olivat hyvin ystävällisiä , vaikkabaarimikko , joka varmasti oli todella väsynyt oli todella otollinen. \nA hot and happening music space located at The Grove House, The Boiler Room is famous for its patronage to underground music. \nSo I was new to Asheville and I am hearing about this place, The BOILER ROOM. They say the place is a bit new as well but I have been hearing lots of compliments about the place. I made a few researches first before checking it out and I found the above text and I thought it is good to share it to people too.
\nAs I continue on researching, I think I am getting fair votes regarding if the place is cool or not. I am a music lover so I guess I will be enjoying the place. And some says the place is really nice so what’s not to try.
\nHere comes the day that I tried hanging-out in The BOILER ROOM, and it was a lot of fun! The experience was a blast!
\nI was there last May 31st, the guest bands were Live Music by Saint Famine Society, Mindshapefist and Polly Panic. Their music was like, the genre of music is hard rock/punk/experimental. This is Saint Famine Society’s CD release show. Their music was really cool! I enjoyed the night so much! I couldn’t find enough words to described the enjoyment we felt. Oh yeah we, I was with some friends who are actually fanatics of the same music genre like I do.
\nWe arrived at exactly 9pm. We went to the bar and wow boy the crowd here were very friendly, even the bartender who for sure was really tired was really accommodating. He smiles a lot which makes the place very inviting actually. It was very easy to get familiar with the place and be comfortable even though we were new there.
\nNow it is a date we will be hanging out at The BOILER ROOM every FRIDAY! This is a perfect place to unwind after a tiring week for a music lover like me. See you there!

\nDuring the 2012 campaign, Barack Obama’s reelection team had an underappreciated asset: Google’s (GOOG) executive chairman, Eric Schmidt. He helped recruit talent, choose technology, and coach the campaign manager, Jim Messina, on the finer points of leading a large organization. “On election night he was in our boiler room in Chicago,” says David Plouffe, then a senior White House adviser. Schmidt had a particular affinity for a group of engineers and statisticians tucked away beneath a disco ball in a darkened corner of the office known as “the Cave.”
\nThe data analytics team, led by 30-year-old Dan Wagner, is credited with producing Obama’s surprising 5 million-vote margin of victory.
\nFor all its acclaim, the analytics team’s main achievement is often misunderstood as “microtargeting” or some variant on wooing voters. This reverses the relationship between campaign and voter at the heart of Wagner’s method. Recent campaigns have employed a top-down approach to identify what they thought were vital demographic groups such as “soccer moms.” Wagner’s team pursued a bottom-up strategy of unifying vast commercial and political databases to understand the proclivities of individual voters likely to support Obama or be open to his message, and then sought to persuade them through personalized contact via Facebook (FB), e-mail, or a knock on the door. “I think of them as people scientists,’’ says Schmidt. “They apply scientific techniques to how people will behave when confronted with a choice or a question.” Obama’s rout of Mitt Romney was a lesson in how this insight can translate into political strength.
\nTraditional marketing has the same inherent limitation as traditional campaigning: It’s impossible to appeal to everybody, even among the groups likeliest to favor a product. “Budweiser might target football fans with an ad showing half-naked women jumping up and down with a bottle of beer,” says M. Eric Johnson, director of the Center for Digital Strategies at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business. “They’re trying to build something that appeals to a huge segment of people. It may be the right segment. But they know they’re losing a bunch of people, who either won’t like the ad or won’t be persuaded by it.” Analytics offers the potential of capturing these people, too.
\n“Big Data gives you the ability to personalize,” says Johnson, “to know me well enough to understand that, while I like beer, I don’t want to see half-naked women jumping around with a can of Bud.”
\nWagner took an unlikely route to the Cave. In 2007 he was volunteering at Obama’s Chicago headquarters as an organizer of phone banks targeting Latino voters. As a hobby, he built a special calculator for caucuses that could determine how many voters a candidate would need to take from a rival to gain an additional delegate. “It was essentially a game-theory application designed for use in the Iowa caucus,” he says.

Wagner showed his creation to some colleagues and shortly after was summoned to the office of the campaign’s Illinois director, Jon Carson. “This is very interesting,” Carson recalls telling him. “How soon can you move to Iowa?
\nCan you go in three days?” Wagner spent the remainder of the primary season traveling from state to state and led the voter targeting effort in the Midwest during the 2008 general election. He later went to work for the Democratic National Committee, where his team accurately forecast the Democrats’ blowout loss in the 2010 midterm elections.
\nBy the time Wagner signed on as chief analytics officer for Obama’s 2012 campaign, it was clear Big Data would be central to the reelection strategy. Along with identifying potential supporters, Wagner’s team built intricate mathematical models of swing states that provided an alternative to traditional polls. “Those guys were our bible,” says Plouffe. “They consistently told us what was really going on.” During the final month, the campaign’s internal tracking polls of Ohio, a pivotal swing state, suddenly grew erratic; one night Obama would be up four, the next down by one. “There were people in the campaign completely wigging out,” Plouffe says. Wagner’s model, by contrast, showed a steady three- to four-point lead for Obama that proved accurate.
\nSchmidt’s introduction to Wagner didn’t seem likely to lead to a business collaboration. Each day at 4:30 p.m., to let off steam, the Cave’s inhabitants would flip off the lights, fire up the disco ball, and spend five minutes dancing to a mash-up of Psy’s Gangnam Style and a campaign robocall voiced in a dulcet baritone by Wagner’s deputy, Andrew Claster. Schmidt showed up to meet Wagner just as “Club Claster” was kicking off. No stranger to creative eccentricity, he was unfazed, and when the campaign ended, he agreed to keep the party going.

\nYandex today announced that it has banded together with Opera Software, SlideME and CodeNgo to
\nkick off and support a new ‘open-source’ initiative dubbed the One Platform Foundation (OPF).
\nAccording to its boiler plate, the OPF wants to “help the Android ecosystem evolve by enabling
\ndevelopers to easily code and submit their apps across multiple alternative application stores”.
\nIn case you didn’t know, Opera and Yandex are among Google’s prime competitors in the mobile
\nbrowser space, and the latter company in particular has been ruffling the Mountain View-based
\nInternet search giant’s feathers in numerous other ways.
\nAndroid marketplaces represent another battlefield.
\nOne of OPF’s first projects is AppDF (short for App Description File), a format that allows developers to
\ndescribe their Android applications in one file and publish it to multiple app stores in one fell swoop.
\nThe AppDF format is for now supported by Yandex.Store, Opera Mobile Store, SlideME and CodeNgo.
\nThe OPF says all app stores are welcome to join the movement, and some are already looking into it.
\nVictor Shaburov, VP of Storefront Services at Opera Software, says:
\n“AppDF is a great tool that allows cross-store app submission. It simplifies the work of developers a lot
\nand is set to drive them a lot of new users.”
\nChris Jones, co-founder of self-publishing platform CodeNgo, added:
\n“We believe that AppDF will significantly lower the obstacles for developers trying to monetize their
\napps and also enable a healthier alternative app store ecosystem.”

\nAnother project from the OPF initiative is OpenIAB (short for Open In-App Billing), a library that allows
\nAndroid app developers to support in-app billing APIs of multiple application stores with a single piece
\nof code.
\nThe One Platform Foundation says it basically aims to alleviate many of the problems faced by Android
\napp developers worldwide today:
\nThe OPF was created to solve some of the big problems for Android app developers – app store market
\nfragmentation and lack of time and resources to allocate apps to any of more than 30 alternative app
\nstores other than Google Play.
\nThe reason why developers usually ignore the smaller app stores is that each app store has its own
\napp description format, form for app submission, etc.
\nWe estimate that it takes on average from 30 minutes to an hour to wrap an app for each app store. It
\ncan cost up to 300 man-hours per year total (without potential updates) to cover all app stores.
\nThe OPF’s mission is to help Android app developers increase the number of stores their applications
\nare distributed in without spending a lot of time and resources on it, and ultimately increase revenues
\nby broadening the potential audience.
\nOf course, this will also help providers of alternative Android app stores grow and make money
\nthemselves, so it’s not like Yandex, Opera and other backers of the initiative are doing it out of sheer
\ngoodwill.
