Forged from the particular experiences, emotions and challenges of motherhood, they are qualitatively different from most friendships which tend to be based on individualistic connection and self-expression. Domestic friendships facilitate a specific form of ‘inclusive intimacy’ and shape an expansive experience of domestic life beyond the family or household. Se observan diferencias estadísticamente significativas en los resultados, en función de las categorías profesionales, así como de la unidad o servicio hospitalario. Las demandas de los y las profesionales reflejan una valoración positiva de sus responsables, aunque se evidencia la necesidad de más habilidades propias de un estilo de liderazgo orientador, participativo y afiliativo. The aim of this study was to identify and analyze perceptions and opinions among health professionals in a university hospital in Andalusia, Spain, regarding the emotional climate, leadership style, quality of information, and internal communication. The study also aimed to collect health professionals' suggestions for improving these workplace characteristics. The study included 730 participants and used a quantitative and qualitative methodology. The results reflect a medium-to-low level of emotional climate, correlated with the leadership style and information and internal communication. Statistically significant differences appeared when comparing professional categories and hospital units. The health professionals provided a positive assessment of the administrators' work, although requiring more task-oriented, participative, and affiliative leadership skills. O objetivo deste artigo foi identificar e analisar a percepção e a opinião de profissionais de um hospital universitário na Andaluzia, Espanha, sobre clima emocional, tipo de liderança e qualidade da informação e comunicação interna, assim como identificar propostas de melhoria. O estudo foi realizado com 730 profissionais de saúde e utilizou metodologia quantitativa e qualitativa. Os resultados refletem a existência de um clima emocional médio-baixo, relacionado com o estilo de liderança e com a percepção sobre o grau de informação e comunicação interna. São observadas diferenças estatisticamente significativas nos resultados, em função das categorias profissionais e unidades ou serviço hospitalar. Objetive: To research the influence of the leadership on the quality of the emotional climate, in the health care teams in Andalusia. Design: Quantitative, descriptive study with 6440 physicians and nurses from 481 health management units included in the Andalusian Health System. Methods: On-line questionnaire with 15 questions about emotional climate and leadership. Results: The statistical analysis revealed the existence of a well-considered leadership and a medium valued emotional climate. Leaders' capacity to promote participation of all members in the work team, and his o her ability to define and communicate the objectives, functions and tasks, have a positive effect on the quality of the emotional climate. The article studies the building of public trust in transplants via a historico-discursive analysis of media sources from 1900 to 1960 in Spain. Maintaining the ‘rhetoric of hope’ as the journalistic strategy for representing transplants, the initial discursive approach involved the image of the doctor as hero, and transplants as miraculous events. After corneal implants became widespread, transplants were presented as a dream come true thanks to the scientific and technical skills of expert physicians. Since the first news of kidney transplants, the press stressed the promise of a better future through science but reflecting a more cautious medical position and confidence that results could be Desde las primeras noticias sobre su trayectoria personal y profesional, la prensa fomentó un discurso de orgullo nacionalista por el éxito internacional del cirujano. Tras la guerra civil, su figura fue especialmente útil para difundir la idea de nación patrocinada por el régimen. Mediante la construcción simbólica de su identidad mediática como caballero español y símbolo cabal de masculinidad, la prensa difundió rasgos comunes de la identidad nacional, anclados en el sistema normativo y moral del nacional-catolicismo, y ratificó las instituciones eje de la moralidad nacional (familia, educación y trabajo) basada en la ideología tradicional de género. Por otra parte, a través del uso político de su figura, Ramón Castroviejo, como sujeto moderno y hombre de ciencia, personificó también los afanes modernizadores del régimen. This ‘science of love’ represents two dispositifs of feminization that circulated through a range of scientific and medical knowledges (e.g. eugenics, ethology, physiology, neurosciences and psychiatry). It not only supported the internal coherence of science and medicine, but also supported particular forms of knowledge within the cultural context of National-Catholicism. Although the science of love was inspired by particular notions of romantic love, it was also contested by the daily and practical experiences of women. Different women in Franco's Spain deployed marginalized and subaltern knowledges as they orchestrated an emotional knowledge that was more emancipatory and useful for everyday amorous preoccupations and well-being than the one in medical and psychiatric texts. Women's discussions of love represented a key site and source of knowledge, an authentic repository of imaginative ideas that are also useful for the present to challenge patriarchal norms.",
