            "abstractNote": "ResumenObjetivo \nEl objetivo de este trabajo es permitir disminuir la dosis a pacientes pediátricos en las exploraciones de telemetría de extremidades inferiores (EEII) con un sistema digital directo, mediante el ajuste de los factores de exposición radiográfica para obtener imágenes de calidad aceptable para el diagnóstico (medición de EEII). \nMaterial y métodos \nSe realizó un estudio prospectivo de 60 pacientes, divididos en dos grupos de 30 pacientes sucesivos: 30 pacientes explorados con el programa preconfigurado en el equipo (grupo estándar) y 30 pacientes con la técnica optimizada a dosis baja (grupo dosis baja). Para cada exploración se recogieron los datos de kilovoltios (Kv), miliamperios/ segundo (mAs), milisegundos (ms), μGycm2 y se realizó análisis estadístico. La radiación medida en μGycm2 fue significativamente menor (1:4) en los pacientes del grupo “dosis baja” (media 9,47 frente a 39,28 μGycm2; desviación estándar [DE] = 5,4; p = 0,0001). Los valores de mAs fueron significativamente menores (1:5) en los pacientes del grupo “dosis baja” (media 6,05 frente a 28,77 mAs; DE = 3,1; p = 0,0001). La reducción de dosis no tuvo repercusión en el uso clínico de las imágenes para el diagnóstico y medidas. \nConclusión \nLa técnica de “dosis baja” reduce la dosis en un 75% de la dosis estándar en telemetría de EEII. \n Objective \nThe aim of this work is to to be able to reduce patient radiation dose in paediatric examinations of the lower limbs and leg length measurement studies with a direct digital system by adjusting the radiographic factors, enabling images of required diagnostic quality to be obtained. \nMaterial and methods \nWe performed a prospective study on 60 patients, divided into 2 groups of 30 patients; a standard group with default settings and 30 with an optimised low dose technique (low dose group). Dosimetry and exposure data were collected on each patient: Kv, mAs, ms, μGycm2 and were statistically analysed. The radiation measured was significantly lower in patients in the “low dose” (mean 9.47 vs 39.28 μGycm2, SD = 5.4, P = .0001). The mAs values were significantly lower in patients in the “low dose” (mean 6.05 vs 28.77 mAs, SD = 3.1, P = .0001). Dose reduction did not decrease image quality for diagnosis and measurements. \nConclusion \nThe low-dose technique allows the standard dose in leg length measurement studies to be reduced by 75%.",

            "abstractNote": "Optimization of radiological scoliosis assessment - La mayoría de las escoliosis son idiopáticas (80%) y ocurren más frecuentemente en adolescentes y en el sexo femenino. La radiografía simple es el método de imagen de elección, tanto en el estudio inicial como en el seguimiento evolutivo, pero tiene el inconveniente de utilizar radiaciones ionizantes. Las mamas quedan en el campo de exposición durante estos estudios repetidos. Los autores presentan una serie de recomendaciones para optimizar la técnica de las exploraciones y los equipos radiográficos, tanto analógicos como digitales, para evitar dosis de irradiación innecesarias a los pacientes y reducir el riesgo de cáncer de mama en los pacientes con escoliosis. Cuando se utilizan equipos analógicos siempre debe utilizarse protector mamario plomado y, en todos los equipos, sean analógicos o digitales, hay que realizar la radiografía en proyección posteroanterior y con técnicas optimizadas de baja dosis. Hay que seguir siempre el principio ALARA (as low as reasonable achievable) para obtener imágenes diagnósticas de calidad con la dosis lo más baja posible.",
