"abstractNote": "Software development raises the relevance as it enables automation of the processes and provides new functionalities to the final consumers; Agile Software Development is an enabler to accelerate software delivery, manage priorities changes and increase productivity. During the software development life cycle, the development team is expected to fully understand customers’ needs, but it is challenged by geographic constraints, narrow project schedule, or short budget. Design Thinking is an approach that promotes the understanding of customer needs considering what is technical and economic feasible. To evaluate how the Design Thinking approach is used integrated with Agile Software Development methodologies, we applied the Systematic Literature Review, which collected, categorized and reviewed 29 articles related to this topic. The results show that most of the integrated models are applied throughout the software life cycle, noting that the model that integrates the DT approach published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Scrum as an agile methodology composes the most frequently used integrated model. The integrated models resulted in a greater approximation of end users and the development team, improving the quality and usability of the software.",

"abstractNote": "Software companies have been using Design Thinking (DT) as a user-centered design approach, putting the user at the center of the software development process. In this article, we report a Systematic Mapping Study to investigate the use of DT in software development. We evaluated 127 papers from 2010 to 2021. We analyzed how DT is integrated in software development, what are the models and techniques, what are the criteria used for selecting DT techniques, and what are the key points that DT practitioners should be aware of when using DT. As a result, we identified 3 strategies to integrate DT in software development, 16 models, and 85 techniques. We also found that the selection of techniques is related to the models’ working spaces being performed, and identified 7 criteria used for selecting DT techniques. Furthermore, we summarized 16 key points that DT practitioners should pay attention when using DT, and we proposed 4 takeaways for applying DT in software development Thus, our study contributes to DT practitioners by providing information to be used either as a starting point, or to integrate it into activities already performed by teams, or as a strategy to foster changes in the entire organization’s mindset.",

For young people, (digital) images are omnipresent. They are also confronted with sexualised visual material, which requires competent, safe and self-determined handling in a special way. Against this background, the article explores the question of how young people perceive these contexts of action and which factors contribute to a sovereign practice in the course of their socialisation process. After a thematic introduction to the field of media pedagogical youth research, the approaches of visual competence and digital sovereignty are explained. Subsequently, empirical data from an explorative group discussion study with 7th and 8th graders will be used to illustrate that a theoretical sensitisation in these two directions is fruitful in order to understand adolescent acting in visualised, sexualised and datafied media environments. Finally, the potential of conceptually linking visual competence and digital sovereignty is reflected, arguing for an understanding of theory that integrates both image-theoretical premises and the relationality of theory formation. The aim of the article is to develop an understanding of growing up in a mediatised society on an empirical and theoretical level. The focus lies on dealing with visuality and sexuality in social media contexts against the backdrop of the described relevancies.",

The early use of multimedia by young target groups requires the strengthening of media criticism and analytical skills. TikTok has gained significant popularity in recent years, which has led to an increased engagement with political issues on the platform (cf. Hajok 2021). This paper examines the strategies and narrative self-positioning of creators, using political TikTok posts as an example. Especially in the context of complex discourses, such content can be disinformative, polarising or democracy-threatening.Right-wing populist actors deliberately use social media and online platforms to disseminate their extremist views with disinformative and derogatory content, thereby strengthening their followership. This culture of debate threatens social cohesion, as disinformation and destructive or emotionally charged communication practices impede the negotiation of perspectives and constructive dissent that are essential to democracy. The analysis of TikTok short videos from the “news and opinion portal” NIUS was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The results indicate that NIUS promotes right-wing populist positions, including narratives that have been interpreted as discriminatory with regard to skin colour, sexual self-determination, national origin, and physical appearance. The posts contain narrative elements that express an anti-elitist attitude towards government authorities and the media, fuel security concerns, and exhibit internalised discriminations and polarisations. The quantitative thematic analysis shows that criticisms are prevalent in different areas, such as diversity (24.2%), bans and language norms (14.7%), security, violence and crime (14.7%), climate protection and activism (12.6%), as well as dealing with the AfD (10.5%). This thematic emphasis contributes to the discursive normalisation of these attitudes. The ‹traffic light› coalition government (2021-2024) is negatively portrayed as an ‹enemy›. A concept of homogeneous community is used to derive hostility towards non-heteronormative orientations and identities. A common pattern is the strategic use of extremism accusations. Pop-cultural references are frequently employed as attention-grabbing devices. The article examines the portal‘s discursive strategies for disseminating content that reflects a populist narrative framework. A key strategy is to switch to alternative secondary and tertiary accounts in the event of bans due to violations of journalistic due diligence, in order to ensure the continuous dissemination of content. In addition, the article presents didactic considerations for raising awareness of disinformation and strengthening critical thinking skills. It offers didactic recommendations for recognizing disinformation and enhancing critical thinking skills. The objective is to shed light on the strategies of right-wing disinformation campaigns and to prepare teachers, educators and young people for these challenges.",

In light of post-digital living environments, which are also influenced by global ecological, social and economic crises, this article examines the relevance of visual media and their communication potential in the context of educational programs for sustainable development from a media-pedagogical perspective. How young people use photography critically and creatively to communicate their sustainability concerns and to challenge existing conditions and policies of unsustainability will be demonstrated using the ongoing research and education project «Expanding Narratives». The article presents the projectsʼ theoretical and conceptual framework, which promotes on an empirical-research level the integration of action-oriented media-pedagogical approaches with those of cultural education and education for sustainable development. On a pedagogical-practical level this integration aims to create educational spaces within which competences of recognising and expanding visually transported narratives as well as participation/creative skills in co-creating a (more) sustainable present and future can be initiated.",

"abstractNote": "With over 3 billion users globally, mobile instant messaging apps have become indispensable for both personal and professional communication. Besides plain messaging, many services implement additional features such as delivery and read receipts informing a user when a message has successfully reached its target. This paper highlights that delivery receipts can pose significant privacy risks to users. We use specifically crafted messages that trigger delivery receipts allowing any user to be pinged without their knowledge or consent. By using this technique at high frequency, we demonstrate how an attacker could extract private information such as the online and activity status of a victim, e.g., screen on/off. Moreover, we can infer the number of currently active user devices and their operating system, as well as launch resource exhaustion attacks, such as draining a user's battery or data allowance, all without generating any notification on the target side. Due to the widespread adoption of vulnerable messengers (WhatsApp and Signal) and the fact that any user can be targeted simply by knowing their phone number, we argue for a design change to address this issue.",
